Who told you that? someone on here? he had a dodgy spell a season or so ago and has then slowly got himself back to a good level. He is far better than Walcott playing anywhere! FACT!CYGooner wrote:Eboue shouldnt be starting ahead of Theo, simply because he shouldnt be playing in the midfield or on the wing. Eboue had a good start to his Arsenal career when played at right back. Last season at Highbury and first season at Emirates you could be forgiven for thinking Wenger had unearthed another gem. But then for some reason he got moved to midfield, I'm assuming to accomodate Sagna, and has gone rapidly downhill since then.

No, I'm perfectly capable of forming my own opinion. When Eboue has started this season he has played as a replacement for Sagna in Champs League games at right back if I remember correctly? Other than that I dont remember him starting many if any games, definitely not on the wing. He probably is still better than Theo on the wing, but my point was that he shouldnt be played there regardless.Swale_Gooner1985 wrote:Who told you that? someone on here? he had a dodgy spell a season or so ago and has then slowly got himself back to a good level. I know you're a school teacher Swaley and being patronising is a requirement in that profession, but is there really any need to start behaving like your kids as well?

As for that last part, guess what - it's not FACT, it's an opinion. I thought you of all people would have known the difference.

He definitely started on the right wing against Man Utd at old trafford and im fairly sure there have been a few other times...the fact is, when he plays wide midfield he is far more effective than soppy Walcott, who as BDB says, cant even control the footballCYGooner wrote:No, I'm perfectly capable of forming my own opinion. I've stood up for eboue in the past but, even theo he is better than theo right now, he is still not a midfielder. Can you not remember the season before last when he played the full season as a winger and scored zero goals and had only 1 assist ?
Imo eboue is a decent enough back up for right full but he is certainly not in sagna's class - we cannot compalin that eboue offers more than sagna going forward and at the same time berate our defensive weaknesses and gung ho policy
Sagna is an excellent defender first and foremost and in a team and squad that is far from overflowing with quality defenders he should get a lot more love and appreciation from the fans than he does

I dunno about excellent augie tbh. Certainly he was absolutely fantastic in 2007/08.augie wrote:I've stood up for eboue in the past but, even theo he is better than theo right now, he is still not a midfielder. He seem to drop a bit last year but no harm as he was so good the previous season......but he drop has contiued into this season

I'm disappoionted as I really want him to do well but when he come up against some tricky players, particulary with speed - he struggles....He may not be getting the support he needs from midfield however this is something that comes with the territory of a 4-3-3 formation.
Alves, Abigal et all have to deal with it so.......

Eboue is a decent enough player but his first touch aint that good either and i would love to see "keep me uppies" between eboue, bendtner and theo, reckon it would be 2 /3 touches at most
Would keep them extremely fit though having to run 50 yards every few seconds to retieve the feking ball............................"ave it" anyone?
