But what it can come across as is, how can you read on here people slagging off (rightly or wrongly) the team and think the very same people are behind the team ? Imagine the scenario, you read on here a poster saying "Theo's shit, Diaby is Poor, Eboue couldn't pass wind" would you think the same person wil be going "Come on Arsenal, we fcuking love you"
It's the same as what was mentioned on the England thread, something along the lines of "How can I think they are scum (Stevie G, JT, Lamps) for 11 months of the year then cheer them at the world cup" Well how can people read all the negativity that goes on, then expect those people to be behind the team.
I think the bold part is exactly right Al. It's about Arsenal isn't it? Not the individual sum of it's parts but Arsenal as a whole.
Everybody has their personal favourites and certain players they just don't take to. But when all 11 cross the line at 3pm on a Saturday they become Arsenal for those 90 minutes. And no matter who I think world class, Sunday league class, or Almunia I support them all as one. Arsenal.
After the game analysis goes on. During the build up to the next game it grows. Wenger is the same, he may never come out and say it on a forum but when he cuts the youth players or sells waning first teamers you can be sure he tells them why.
I'm sure his talk with Kolo went along the lines of, You've been a great player for me but lately your standards have slipped. I'm looking to bring a replacement in so you won't be first choice anymore. If you want first team football it would be best if you left, I've accepted an offer from Man City.
But he wouldn't have told the press that would he?
