Its only one match. 3 is for violent conduct
Really? I honestly thought any straight red was a 3 match ban. I thought we'd be looking at him missing 4 matches if the appeal fails. I'm quite relieved now.

1 Match ban AND I dont think there is any possibilty of it being extended because we arent using the appeal proccess to make him available for our next match while the appeal is considered.

Vermaelen red card appeal is dismissed

The Football Association has just released the following statement:

"At a Regulatory Commission hearing today, a claim for wrongful dismissal from Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen was dismissed.

"Vermaelen was shown a red card for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity during Arsenal’s match against West Ham United on Saturday 20 March.

"He will now serve a one match suspension with immediate effect."

What you forget is that standing England captains can do forearm smashes on players necks, beat the shit out of someone in a nightclub, develop an inner ear imbalance in the penalty box in a game the stereo-nickers are losing yet be blameless and above any suspicion.

FA-F***ing A***holes

Just means Sol might be rested against B'ham so he's fresh for Messi on Wednesday. We are stuck with Silvetsre...shit,shit,shit.
Martin Atkinson is a w****r, he couldn't give the card quickly enough.

Strictly speaking it is 1 1/2 games (the 1/2 a game v West Ham also) (Which could have cost us, because of the ineptitude of that *word censored* of a ref, Atkinson) :banghead: :banghead:

a comment in the times regarding this is pretty spot on.

if were worrying about him being out against a team like birmingham we may aswell give up now.

he/she has a point.
