Is it? Says here he's scored ten in Ligue 1...GunnerDude wrote:13starts 4sub 4goals 5assists in the league.
I wouldn't say he scored for fun, morelike he scored when we needed it the most(while Ade was off form).

Thought the bit in bold was interesting; he says deals, other than Chamakh who else is joining? Could it be that Savic guy??Arsène Wenger has admitted that there is "a good chance" Marouane Chamakh will start next season as an Arsenal player.
The Bordeaux striker has netted 15 times for his current club this season, including five goals in the Champions League. He has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal since last summer and with his current contract drawing to an end, he will be available on a free transfer in June.
Chamakh has reportedly confirmed that Emirates Stadium is his first-choice destination and Wenger admits there is a good chance the Moroccan will move to Arsenal.
"We will announce the deals after the league [finishes]," he said.
"He is one of the players who has a good chance to join us."

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 33,00.htmlBordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has all but confirmed that he will be joining Arsenal in the summer.
The 26-year-old Morocco international is out of contract at the end of the season and will reportedly move to the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer in June.
Chamakh has been with Les Girondins since 2000 and his goals helped them to the Ligue 1 title last term as well as an excellent run in the UEFA Champions League this year.
With Arsenal having problems up front this season following a serious injury to Dutch ace Robin van Persie, Wenger is thought to have moved to snap up the North African star.
Chamakh says he decided to leave the French club earlier in the year and is relishing the prospect of Premier League football.
"I am delighted to join the English football atmosphere, it is something amazing," he told French newspaper L'Equipe.
"I love Arsenal's game. I know I will have to adapt but I know the short passing game with (Bordeaux midfielder) Yoann Gourcuff.
"In February, I made my decision. A departure clause (in a potential new Bordeaux contract) was not logical after refusing Arsenal last summer.
"Arsenal were not alone. There were Liverpool, Tottenham and crazy offers from Russia.
"But I was only focused on the Premier League."
Chamakh has been with Les Girondins for 10 years and, while he is looking to the future, admits he will be leaving with a heavy heart.
"For my last matches with Bordeaux I can feel a lot of emotion," he added.
"But I am leaving for a new challenge. At Bordeaux I was the club's child. In London, I won't be a kid anymore.
"I have grown, I have things to prove and I am motivated to achieve it."
“Certainly, we will announce one player before the World Cup. After that we will see.â€

I'll say it once again, as it seems some are already raising their hopes and will most certainly end up disappointed once again.
Chamakh is NOT the 25+ scorer we're all desperate to sign! He's exactly the Bendtner type of player with more heart and a slightly better touch. So if it is to replace Bender then fair enough, lets have chamakh. I still think he's better than Bender.
But for a club of our standard, I'd expect far more! RVP first choice + Chamakh in 2nd is not what I am in right to expect as an Arsenal fan. A [insert name between the likes of Villa, Dzeko, Higuain, Forlan, Aguero, Zarate, Balotelli] 1 rst choice and RVP 2nd or both playing together IS what I expect from a club aiming for the title and the CL each year!
I'm sorry lads, but I don't see chamakh enlighting the Gunners attack next season. I only see in him a good player in the air, with heart and passion, but certainly not THE killer instinct.
But then again... what do I know, compared to the great Arsene?

Does he have belief, desire etc etcFrenchGun wrote:I'll say it once again, as it seems some are already raising their hopes and will most certainly end up disappointed once again.

Thnks FG, good to have an inside view. My suspicion is that he is a "good" player, but that the most important element of this deal is...FREE TRANSFER.FrenchGun wrote:I'll say it once again, as it seems some are already raising their hopes and will most certainly end up disappointed once again.

LoL! Yeah he has it all! All the ingredients to fill the Wenger school of brainwashed.

@Rigsby: The thing is he can tap in, but unlike what we've been doing until now, you'd better put in a high ball as he's more likely to score with his head than with his feet. The only problem is that our high balls usually comes from sagna and clichy...
You should also not expect any genious move from the morrocan. He's a team player. He can slot in a ball at the end of a nice collective movement where he's been involved, but he's not able to provide the moment of genius a la Henry, DB10 or even RVP or Arshavin.
If I had to chose, I'd rather have a Loic Remy than chamakh, as I see more possibility of evolution with Remy than Chamakh...
But hen again, as you said, no one expected Verminator to have such an impact on his first year! Chamakh could end up being exactly what we need. Unfortunatly my doubts are still high...

Totally agree with French Gun,streamed a few games when we linked with him and to be honest didn't impress me and it contradicts wenger statement we only get better than what we got
.He on par with Bendtner but like all have said HE'S FREE!!!.Chamakh record ain't encouraging either actually on the wages reported to being offered it's disgusting!...227 league games with 57 goals scored
We need a 20-25 league goalscorer and sorry wenger you have to flash the cash.

Im sorry but i have seen enough of Chammy to think he will do very well.....and with the ammo he will get next season....see the ball bulge the net....
The difference is sammy that these guys had built up a rep before they went to these clubs where as chammy has only played for bordeaux and a 1 goal every 4 games is far from prolific to be fair
