Footballer apologizes for BNP vote!

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Sorry MM9, I did not read the post by gunnerdude. I posted in a rush on the way out. If he has launched into a diatribe then I am afraid that this is what is needed for the bigoted headlines of an intolerant press to be addressed. Like I said, it is only when these prejudice attitudes can be rationally discussed that the ignorance which underpins their power can be dismantled.

V4V, don't misquote me. I said it is not unprofessional to vote for the BNP. This was in the context of being disciplined at work for voting for a legitimate party. Unlike the BNP do with race and you do with opinions; I do not see the world in black or white. The action of voting for the BNP does not warrant disciplining on the grounds of unprofessionalism. This does not mean I view it professional to vote for the BNP and for you to take that from my views is childish and lacking.

I believe the way to tackle prejudice is through language because that is where prejudice behaviour has its' origins. The language the supporters of the BNP use cannot be dismissed through a chorus of boos. It needs to be dismantled through debate; starting with the islamaphobia and misdirection on immigration. If you need my personal views explaining further PM me.
