As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Leave now and he will end his Arsenal career without a major trophy
no league title, no champions league
without them he can't be put in the elite group of midfielders like Vieira, Petit, Limpar, Rocastle, Thomas, Overmars, Pires, Ljungberg and Gilberto.
a real pity, I feel let down.
Also it's apparently nailed on that Barca will get Villa
so they play
Iniesta + Xavi with an anchor in midfield - exactly the partnership that stops him starting for Spain
The old story was shift Iniesta up front as one of the strikers, I was always suspicious that wouldn't get the best out of him anyway.
Now that Pedro is a key striker for them who the hell do they drop?
Their strongest XI would have Cesc on the bench...
rodders999 wrote:Have the people who say that Cesc would only make the bench at Barca ever actually been to an Arsenal match or do you lot only get the scores off teletext??
Fucking hell, the kids a genius, he'd walk on to any team in the world.
Given he's one of the top 10 players in the world, the last statement is a given
Even if the other 9 are better players in the same position? Im talking hypothetically...
Cesc has been our best player for the last 5 seasons. The reasons he has not won a league title is the shit around him.Denilson Diaby and Eboue FFS.He will win trophies at Barca
A truly world class player leaving before he has reached his peak just like Brady in 1980

Spot on but rosetinted idots were calling Cesc a *word censored* yesterday
I think this is taken out of context now. and the media bandwagon has humped like never before. If you go back to the interview and remember he was asked the question of whether he wants to leave Arsenal and come to Barcelona was asked. Well, no it wasn’t. The questions were strategically asked to provoke a series of responses. “Do you see yourself ever coming back to Barcelona?â€

So Liam Brady who never won a league title wasnt a legend even though he was up their with Bergkamp and Henry as a player?

Laughable comments from the self-proclaimed rosetinters last night
As already said some of the comments on this thread are a disgrace although it should come as no big surprise that the author of this thread is one of the biggest "rosey's" on this forum

I think the fact that he stayed (and may yet stay longer....!) for 7 years during a period when the squad was getting steadily weaker actually makes him more of a legend not less. No disrespect to Pires, Ljungberg and Gilberto but lets face it the players they had around them meant that the decision to sign a new contract was a bit of a no brainer!

What I'd like to know is how does Balague know the details of a private conversation (if there actually was one) between Cesc Fabregas and Arsene Wenger anyway? Was he there? Is he psychic?
I dont care about all this crap 'Breaking news' bla bla and hysteria created by the likes of Sky Sports News that Fabregas is leaving ASAP I'm going to remain calm over all this. I'll believe it when I see it with my own eyes.
He will be a legend, Brady won fuck all with us bar an FA Cup and is considered a legend. I don't thtink winning things make you a legend. Its how you play for us and the commitment and desire you show.
