chamakh is a gooner!!!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Kevinho wrote: It's more like SIGN SOMEONE WE ACTUALLY NEED. We've got strikers coming out of our ears, Wenger was on record as saying we didn't need to buy because our goals record was so great but in the end it is our defence that needed (and needs major work).

Just don't see the point of wasting what little money we have on wages/signing on fee for Chamakh when that could be used toward a class defender.
but that's the point, mate. transfer window isn't even open yet. chamakh will be the only offensive player he'll sign, wenger said the he was going to have to strenghten the defence, as we shipped to many goals this season.
we ARE going to sign at least one defender, however chamakh happened first as it was a free transfer, the defenders will come later.

cheer up guys, it's one more good guy in the air, weren't we all complaining about wenger 'midgets'??

Chamakh looked better than I'd first head and feared in the Champions League especially so I'm pretty optimistic. How optimistic I'll be ahead of the season though depends on just whether he is the start of end of our business asnd how seriously we conduct that business.

He is centainly more athleatic and dynamic than Bendtner and a better choice for the first 11. Bendtner has always looked better in shorter appearances for me where he can have a greater impact on play. He's just not a 90-minute player for me - at least not this level. Chamakh clearly is. Is he a good enough 90-minute player for Arsenal? Well see, and I think we'll see that he is.

Worse than that, the ANC is due to be played in both 2012 and 2013 so as to re-align it in the football calender!!! :banghead: :banghead:
