The Lastest Gooner

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

This will then make sure that every match has a report on the website.
Have you been on another forum Ben

NOW I KNOW YOU'RE NOT A SMOKER!! LIKE FOOTBALL PLAYERS, YOU NEVER WANT YOUR GEAR TO BE TOO GREEN!! YOU ARE PROBABLY SO YOUNG THAT YOU'RE STILL SMOKING THAT HOME-GROWN STUFF, AIN'T YOU?
IHH, you are right that I am not a smoker, haven't touched a cigarette in three months. I do however still enjoy smoking a big fat one every now and then. Can't beat green, not a great fan of solid as I always seem to end up with burn marks in whatever shirt I am wearing. 8)

You don't know that IHH. I have been to the Dam on many occaisions to smoke the real stuff. Granted the homegrown gear available here is good but not a touch on some of the Cup winners available out there. I only do green as solid is mixed with too much shit and besides, I always seem to burn whatever shirt I happen to be wearing if smoking solid. 8)

I wish I was that young :D

NO DISRESPECT MEANT, BUT IF I'VE ALREADY READ THE VIEWS ON THE FORUM, WHY WOULD I WANT TO READ THEM AGAIN IN THE FANZINE? AND IF ANYONE WAS INTERESTED IN THEM, WHY DON'T THEY JUST GET ON-LINE AND SAVE THE £2? :?

FINALLY, REGARDING THE BACK COVER, IS THAT A DELIBERATE MIS-SPELLING OF ARSENAL OR AM I MISSING SOMETHING AGAIN? :?

okay - just to clear this up. when the letters are complied for editing (by someone else incidentally) if there haven't been enough submissions by post/email, then the forum is cherry picked for stuff. the vast majority of gooner readers won't have seen the forum stuff (even i only get to read about 10% of what's on here and i am supposed to be modertating the thing :!: we can only apologise for the repetition to forum regulars, but take it as a complement that material is used in the gooner.

on the back cover - the original nike ad in 2004 had arsena without the l as there had only been Ws and Ds that season and no Ls. Confess I had forgotten this, but the designer talked me into leaving it as it was. i can understand the confusion - even the printer rang up to make sure it wasn't a mistake!

ok - match views - guilty as charged. idea with this section was that i post a match view (the one used in the issue if no alternative) soon after each game. unfortunately, the match views are rarely sent in promptly for the issue and i am too busy to chase.

still, i can get them up quite quickly if they are sent a day or two after a match and would prefer to have different ones on the website than in the issue. so in brief - by all means write one for the website. my only request is for you not to just write up a list of chances. anyone can read that anywhere. what i'd like to feature are pieces with opinion based on aspects of the match - how our players performed, the atmosphere, some anecdote about the day. interesting stuff that isn't going to appear in a bog standard report on the match. in short opinion and not reportage. so who is up for west ham on saturday then?

Is anyone going to the game, i would but if the only thing i can watch it on is the untrusty sopcast so I wouldn't have very good opinions as i can't watch it fluently. How about u just leave it open gooner ed and anyone can write one u and send it to ur email then you can choose the best one.

FAIR ENOUGH, WAYNO. 8)

I'M A SKUNK MAN MYSELF. AFTER NEARLY 30 YEARS OF SMOKING, IT'S THE ONLY THING THAT GIVES ME ANYTHING LIKE A BUZZ. SOMETIMES, I EVEN NEED A DRINK TO 'HELP IT ALONG'!
8)
AS FOR THE SOLIDS, I ONLY SMOKE IT IN AN EMERGENCY WHEN THERE IS NOTHING ELSE AROUND. GOD ONLY KNOWS THE AMOUNT OF CLOTHES I HAVE RUINED OVER THE YEARS SMOKING THAT SHIT!!

GOONER ED. AND ALL ARSENAL 1886,

THANKS FOR THE EXPLAINATION ABOUT THE ARSENAL SPELLING. I DON'T REMEMBER THE ORIGINAL NIKE AD WHERE IT WAS FIRST DISPLAYED. NOW THAT I KNOW THAT IT REPRESENTS NO LOSSES, I CAN SEE IT IS A GREAT IDEA!!  ALTHOUGH SURELY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EASIER TO HAVE WORDS TO THAT EFFECT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE AND THEN I, AND OTHERS, WOULDN'T HAVE NEEDED TO ASK SUCH A STUPID QUESTION!!

Loved page 6-7 At home with Kolo
Who is it in the original photo that Kolo's head is superimposed onto?

I'd say at a pinch Chris Whyte?
