Must dispute Goonersid's comments about Belfast. Being a resident of said town all my life I've had no problem there. Even during the height of the Troubles I could still enjoy a night out without any sectarian bollocks. Still the same but then every town has it's share of idiots.

Only been to your fair city during the day so can't comment on the nightlife. Did raise a glass to you over the Saville Report. Always good to get the truth out there.
Sorry Pistols, I didn't mean to offend, but I have to say on the 2 occasions I have had a night out in Belfast, I did feel uncomfortable. The last time admittedly was about 6 years ago. And then asking for a pint of Harp or a Smithwicks in the wrong establishment, could invite an unfriendly stare from the natives and bar staff alike.

I've enjoyed my couple of stays in Belfast, great pubs, some fine totty and lovely people (mostly). But like any major city you just have to be careful where you go. There is always a few cunts about.

I went to Roosters with my girlfriend  I remember it well... the steak was fantastic, the barmaids were gorgeous (and wearing very little  ) and amazingly they had a re-run of Arsenal's famous victory at the Bernabeu vs. Real Madrid on the tv! PERFECT! 8)

Great city, and apart from Aushwitz, which was quite a harrowing trip, a little gem hidden away in Krakow is the Oscar Schindler factory - well worth a visit, if you can find it!

What do people reckon is the best for an overnight stay this season? I'm thinking of doing it for Newcastle, Liverpool and maybe Everton away....

Out of those three definitely Newcastle, your far more likely to encounter that famous wit (bitterness) from the scousers they love 'cockneys' and in case you weren't aware a cockney is anyone from within 50 miles of Bow bells, at least it is to a Scouser..
If your idea of a good night out is a bit of violence and being a target for any scouser with a chip on his shoulder and there are many, Liverpool is a great night out..

I found Albufeira quiet and more family / couple orientated. :?
