I hadn't appreciated that he was already 27 until reading through this thread. I'd always excused his injuries as he was 'young', and his best days were ahead of him.
But at this age, it's really now or never. See what happens this season, and then maybe think about offloading him next summer. That said, he has been loyal to us (cynics would argue purely because we pay him whilst injured all these years), but it's a rare trait in this day and age nonetheless, and I happen to like the guy.

i cant see the sense or logic in getting shot of our most talented player(given that cesc is just bideing his time) even if he is injury prone.aw wont pay for a simmilar talent so where do we go for these 16 matches a year.the question we should be asking is why do we get so many injuries in the first place? from my viewing point i would say 1/the vast majority of our side cant tackle 2/ they are mostly lightwieghts 3/recovery time, vp should not have been rushed back last term, just because he can perform in the gym and in training that means sod all when playing scholes savage etc.last point is the medical/fittness regieme what it should be or was,i dont remember so many blighted years under gg etc.
brady won it beautifully, look at that oh look at that

I want Robin van Persie to stay at Arsenal till the man feels its time to call it a day, he is an excellent striker who ALWAYS puts in a shift in an Arsenal shirt and I want the man to stay an Arsenal player and it is shocking that some of you want rid of him because he is injury prone.
Van Persie twisted his ankle - it can happen, he done it trying to stop the Blackburn player clearing the ball, twisting your ankle fucking hurts like hell and it may not sound bad but it is.
If he didn’t put in a shift you lot would say he’s shit, he doesn’t want to play for us so sell him on.
No pleasing some people.

I think you're got things a bit arse(nal) about face mate. The central point is that RvP is the focal point of our attack, and struggles to play half the games a season. Not just an ankle injury now, which can happen to anyone. But with this guy it's non-stop. And we're paying him a huge salary, to sit on the sidelines half of every season.Arsenal Till I Die wrote:I want Robin van Persie to stay at Arsenal till the man feels its time to call it a day, he is an excellent striker who ALWAYS puts in a shift in an Arsenal shirt and I want the man to stay an Arsenal player and it is shocking that some of you want rid of him because he is injury prone.

If he didn't put a shift in, yep, some people might have a go at him - and rightly so. One thing has nothing to with the other so your "no pleasing some people" makes no sense.
