We moan our players are brittle, but he was there when asked to play..just like professionals should....but it isnt always the case.

He didnt sulk, moan, cry, ask for a transfer, slag off the club in the media or abuse the people that abused him (cough *rooney* *adebayor).

He got his head down, worked hard and won the respect of the fans back.

THATS why he is well liked by the crowd - along with the fact he is a decent squad footballer who shows a genuine desire for the club.

He is very well liked in the Arsenal community, and in my opinion people are far too harsh on him - its mainly you old boys!!

I agree with you for once bud. Its also people who dont go matches that slag him off too...

Here comes the back lash!

You speak for the whole Arsenal community? :D

Won the respect of what fans back exactly? I'm a fan. He hasn't won my respect. My mates are fans. He hasn't won their respect. Are we not part of the Arsenal community? We have a word for that type of attitude, you know? It begins with "S"...

"He didnt sulk, moan, cry,"??!! He didn't have time to do that - he was and is far too busy doing it continually on the pitch!

Comedy Eboue is a joke player. But he represents our club. I find that embarrassing beyond belief. I can honestly say he is the only current player of ours I HATE. Almunia is shit, but that's not his fault, he tries. Ditto Diaby and Bendtner and Denilson. I don't want them playing for us but I can't hate them as they try their best and are honest players, just not good enough.

Comedy Eboue is a diver, a cheat and a useless winger with no end product. Accepted he is a bog standard back up player for the RB position but I'd rather almost anyone there instead of him because of all the other baggage the crunt brings with him.

I just bet he's a fucking dyed up ginger too! :-P

trophies aside coz none of this squad have really ever 'won' anything for us. Cesc was sub player ans so was Clichy when we last won the league.

This guy kinda makes me think of Perry Groves. How in his book Perry states that he has no real understnding of why he has a 'cult' status at Arsenal he just does. Perry also states that he had been booed by fans, had stinkers of games etc but is still much loved by the fans (older ones) and it wasn't until he pretty much left that this happened.

Eboue is starting to ring of the same kinda fan support , in my opinion. No he is not a great player but he has moments and is essentially a sub player but he gives teh fans something, fcuk knows what but he does.

I don't know this but i reckon he probably could be a favourite with teh junior gunner side of things too he is a charecter and he clearly makes most fans take life a little less seriously and in truth we need that sometimes,

good on him for "surviving" the booing incident and still be in the first team squad,

personally i think he has "pictures" of Wenger...... but he does make me laugh..

Ditto to every word of that!! You saved me 5 minutes typing out exactly the same thing.

Eboue is a joke. When he came on last night, everything he touched turned to dog turd.

I could put up with his clowning around but his contribution is negligible and his diving is embarassing. And what about his red cards at OT and WHL - both for rank stupidity. The reason he hangs around with a big grin on his chops is because no other top manager would offer him a whacking great contract!!

Dived, rolled over and held his face in the pre-season friendly in Warsaw ffs.

Agree with OneBard, an embarrassment to the club.

Besides being a Fecking diving, girl's blouse - he also makes sure he's first to join in the goal celebrations EVEN WHEN HE'S NOT EVEN FECKIN' PLAYING!!!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

AW played him through the centre at the beginning of last season - when we (for a change! ) had players out injured and he did very well...that AND 2 seasons before when he put in the cross from the right wing that TH headed home to beat the manc scum in the last minute of the game ....(Oh! the look on ferguies face will be with me forever!) :D :D :D :D :D - so I thank eboue for THAT..but otherwise he is earning £38k a week for being a happy character in the dressing room and the training ground...so he can F U C K O F F !....he's built like a brick shyte house and has pace and skills - which he chosses to show sparingly....When and ONLY WHEN he starts putting his foot in , stop rolling around every time he's tackled...actually shows some back bone! then I might not consider him and embarrassment to my beloved Arsenal.

also what IS worse is that a Genuine Gifted and Talented player like Eddie with more talent and guts in his little finger than eboue gets his ankle snapped and ends up being shipped out....and we have to now endure eboue T-Shirts....and people making him int a cult hero :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Oh! PULLEEEEZE F E C K O F F!

I accept that he did well to bounce back after the wigan game but lets look at things clearly for a mo......was he booed that day just because he was utter shite or was it an accumulation of factors primarily his diving that caused fans to turn against him ? Has he ceased that diving.....no he hasnt and imo he has to cease that before we can talk about showing him the respect so many of you seem to refer to.

You may well claim that he didnt demand a transfer after the wigan game and it could well be that the reason for that is that he is happy at Arsenal but do you think that there is a chance that he is also aware that no other big club would want him, pay him as much money or give him such a regular platform to "do his stuff" ? I fully believe that he, unlike many other footballers, really does appreciate what he has got but is it enough just to be grateful and clap the fans after the game ? Christ we could sign any *word censored* off the street to run about and roll around for 90 minutes and then clap the fans at the end but surely we should expect more ??

Listen I am more than happy with having eboue as back up to sagna and I dont dislike the guy as such but I just cannot accept the amount of love he gets for producing fcuk all and I would suggest that we have had far better back up players who did more for the team (grimandi for example) and didnt get a fraction of the love eboue gets

I take the point "Arsenal community" suggests some generalisation, but i would say that the people that hate him is relatively small in terms of the whole Arsenal fanbase.

I dont think anybody is under the illusion that he is the best player in the world, but if we are talking pure football terms, which is what it should be about really, for me, he deserves respect. I will never hate an Arsenal player that does his best for the club like he does, shit or otherwise, lord knows we have had people that have treated the shirt like dirt.

The other bolt ons are down to opinion, i guess he is like Marmite, but I have a lot of time for him, on both a football and a "team" issue. It pissed me off to see Clichy just waltz straight down the tunnel last night as soon as the final whistle went - and a few others did as well - Eboue does make an effort to recognise the fans, and in an age when people moan their "love for football wains as players dont connect with fans" i think that should be applauded, but as i say, the main thing is he is a good footballer and a good asset to the squad - in footballing terms, and a hell of a lot of people agree with that outside this forum!

ps - Ginger? I guess if we were to have an African Ginger it probably would be him :-P
