Nasri bottled it

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Only two players in our team could smash a penalty like that and it would go in - RvP and Verminator.

Should add Cesc to that list too.

But everyone is blaming Nasri and Rosicky. Anyone can miss a penalty. I would have put money on Fat Frank never missing one, but he missed one a few weeks ago.

The midfielder is not a regular penalty taker for the Gunners, and revealed he stepped up on Saturday because other players were reluctant to.

"Fabregas and (Andrey) Arshavin were not on the pitch at that time," he said.

"Ahead of the kick I communicated with (Samir) Nasri and (Marouane) Chamakh but nobody wanted to take responsibility, so I did."

While admitting the penalty was a crucial moment, Rosicky insists his side should have still managed to take the full three points home.

I dont think Nasri had that bad of a game. He was always looking to create something, his movement is quite unpredictable and at times it seemed clichy didnt read his movement at all. He wasnt at his best, but who was.

@ flash: Way to turn on your own after one game. Hope TWO penalty conversions tonight shut you up, and rightly so.

I never mentioned that i thought that he bottled it, it seemed that if he wasnt in the right frame of mind then dont take it. As stated on the previous page penalties are a rhythm thing.
