As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I love my women as my as I love my football. If anything, there needs to be more females at football games. They bring class and sophistication to our support

I saw a couple of ladies in our end yesterday that I certainly wouldn't want banned from football.

I saw more than a couple. Next time I'm gonna go and try stand next to them and get chatting
On another note - the police were c**ts today - the way they treat you is disgusting - after the match i saw them arresting gooners after they had reacted to being pushed and shove around by the scumbags. c**ts c**ts c**ts....what a shit day
This is a worrying trend nowadays ,if there isw no trouble they will create it . Why you ask ?????? Overtime thats why .
These games are very heavily over policed are massive vertime earners fro plod ,if there is no trouble and no arrests someone might get the very real idea that they need less of them at matches and that simply wouldnt do .
From Blackburn Pete to pc plod anywhere they have a cushy life get to travel europe and get loads of dosh and if there is no trouble they will let mobs loose just to make sure there is some ..
Policing isnt about protecting the public its about protecting police jobs !

its part and parcel of supporting a big club though unfortunetly.

You are absolutely spot on regarding this. A while ago I posted about the trouble at Newcastle Central Station where the police have got a lot of our fans banned, and beat them up- they said there was "great trouble" at the station but we are now well over a year after the event, and the court case STILL hasnt happened (now due for February 2010)- this is the case where they said their police dogs faced horrendous abuse and were kicked etc and it was the worst they have ever seen- a Freedom of Information request later found out that not one dog needed a trip to the vets, whilst one of our fans was in hospital with dog bites. The police have kept delaying and delaying proceedings, hoping that people will just accept the charges and look to move on. Our fans know they are in the right and so are fighting the case- surely if the evidence was so compelling the case would have been done and dusted by now. Instead of which our fans, who still havent been found guilty, are still banned from the SoL- over a season missed and they might be found not guilty. The club has "nicely" said they will reserve their ST seats, so they can still sit in their normal seat if they are ever allowed back in the ground, but obviously that is hardly any comfort to the lads in question
Sadly, this kind of thing happens quite regularly. As you say, this is easy overtime for the police and with football as sanitised as it is now, its (generally) a pretty easy shift. All the police need to do is keep arresting/ banning people to make it look as if they are required. Every pre season, Sunderland (who must be in talks with police regarding fixtures) go somewhere where you just know there will be trouble. This lets the police engineer banning orders nice and early and make the rest of their season even easier. This time we had a kick off time changed for no apparent reason, the result being that our fans and newcastles fans got back to newcastle central station at about the same time. There wasnt any trouble, but the police must have known that it was a very bad idea- but especially with all the spending cuts at the minute, the police will ensure they are "required", even if it means engineering some problems
They are bullies, on a power trip. They aren't so brave though in troubled areas, or when real criminals are around are they? Most of them shit their pants.
No offense to any coppers amongst us, but so many of them are utter *word censored*. I also despise the fact that crime on a copper is some sort of more serious matter than a normal person. We're all the same ffs.
