Lower league / non league football?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Think I remember that one although wasn't at it. Harlow Town haven't had the best of it over the years. I was more than a little envious when Stevenage got promoted..... !

When news came through that Harlow were beating Leicester (a team that went on to get promoted and included Alan Smith and Gary Lineker!) we were standing in the North Bank for a cup replay of our own. We went ballistic and we did get some strange looks  !

My best mate is an ipswich fan, been to see ipswich home and away a few times including the play off final at the old wembley. I took him to all the champions league games at wembley and hes never seen arsenal lose! So were looking good for the carling cup semi!! I have a terrible ipswich record, they always lost one nil every away game i went too! one game stands out tho, oxford away at thier old ground, proper crumbling terrace and caged away enclosure, shit hole ground but an experience none the less!

Went to Wycombe Wanderers v Gillingham today, stood on home terrace behind the goal.

An unexpected day off work so rocked up and paid on the day £15.

Dull first half but second half livened up, WW won with header from a corner, Gills unlucky not to equalise being denied by the crossbar after lobbing the keeper.

Great comedy moment during the final seconds, Gills keeper went up for a corner that was cleared away, the WW striker had an open goal with the keeper in the wrong half but a great tackle denied a second goal.

Lower league football, still offering the things that football fans fell in love with years ago...

Used to get to quite a few Barnet games when I was younger as I played for their youth team for the best part of 10 years. They used to be quite handy and produced such stellar names as:

Andy Clarke - £1m to Wimbledon
Linvoy Primus - Pompey
Dougie Freedman - Palace
Maik Taylor - Brum
Marlon King - :awnker:

Used to be allowed into the players lounge after every home game and would see the likes of big Linvoy eating the equivalent of a mega-bucket of fried chicken. How times have changed!

Was always Arsenal, and used to go to Highbury each home game in the Junior Gunners section straight after playing footy on Saturday morning.

As stated on another thread, Barnet will go down this season. It's been coming for a few seasons now, and will be a real shame.

Back in the mid 70's, before my family moved back to Ireland, I used to go over to loftus road to watch qpr. Back then they had a good team with dave clement and gerry francis ( ) the stand out players in my memory from that time. My uncle used to run the springbok pub right on the corner of the ground and a lot of the players used to go in for a few drinks after the game 8) Am often tempted to go to one of their games again just for old times sake but as long as *word censored* warnock is in charge I dont think I will

Over here I used to sometimes attend athlone town games in league of ireland - they are a small club but the most local club to me (35 miles away). They and the LOI in general is shit now plus no longer players from the area seem to be playing for them anymore so cant be arsed to go down there

Warnock seems to be doing great for them. From fighting off relegation last season they are 5 points clear at the top of the championship.

Loftus Road is a shit ground by the way and their fans make as much noise as us / chelsea / fulham
