Do you know what is atmosphere?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That's what we want mate but it's very hard convincing politicians of it. They all seem convinced we'll have another Hillsborough on our hands if we implement safe standing :banghead:

Another thing that always strikes me about supporters from Europe is that it's big groups of youngsters, there's rarely anyone over about 40 in sight, which unfortunately you're never gonna get here. Many younger fans just can't afford to get to the games & when they do they're dispersed around the stadium, sat in with older people who have no interest in generating an atmosphere....

I understand, Dan ... it's sad.

For your information, mates: In 1976, Corinthians went the the semi-finals against Fluminense on Brazilian League ... the match would be at Maracanã (which I suppose you all know), and Corinthians fans sent more than 100 buses to Rio de Janeiro to go to the game. Just take a look at this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm7b6P1f6ck

THIS is away supporting. Sorry.

our away support was just as good as that in the seventies and eighties . I'm not in the camp that thinks waving flags and jumping around like a child is good support .

back in the day it was all about taking big numbers, getting drunk, singing an hour before the game and still supporting the players even when your 6-1 down at everton or 3-0 at fucking oxford united.

Am I right in saying that once some Internacional fans torched their players cars when they lost 5-0 to Palmeiras? that aint good support

I don't know, i didn't hear that fact ... I don't remeber Palmeiras winning 5-0 in my life, lol

Well, so sorry mate, your conception of supporting is very poor, in my opinion. But that's alright, I respect.

Getting to grounds 3 or 4 hours before the game; choreographed singing; people banging their drums or blowing some kind of instrument, etc, etc.
At least we only get excited when something actually happens!!!
