Whilst I don't agree with every redaction initiative, I have alot of respect for them, especially for getting blocks 5 and 6 sorted.

Yeh that’s exactly right.

I will never be a in the ask Wenger to wave crew or part of the silly march.

However I think they have done something real good in getting blocks 5 and 6. Can you imagine the grove without the 2 blocks

Also for the work on getting the stadium more Arsenal and the banners.

I stand in block 6 and fuck am I thankful for REDaction!!!!

People have been singing "Arsene give us a wave" for years, going well back to the old days at Highbury

I do also admire the work REDAction do and don't think they get enough credit.

Henry mate that’s bollox

The whole of block 5 and 6, some of 4 and some of 7 all stand every game.

You haven’t really been enough home games to comment as we do make noise but you cant hear fuck all on the TV as they turn the mics down. Also from one end to another you cant hear much due to how the stadium is built. I cant hear the away fans at all from block 6.

The 2 blocks start the majority of all chants that spread around the stadium and constantly attempt to make noise during the game.

The players hear us clearly every game and though not as loud as back in the day it is still loud enough to encourage the team.

If we do fuck all then why do the players only run to our corner when they score. They even run out of there way just in order to celebrate in front of our corner.

Ex players only come over to us and clap us, Kolo for example when Citeh played us.

Without us there would be no noise at all for the players and no real support.

Next time you go a home game let me know and you come in block 6 and you can see for your self.

I went to wolves and it was dead silent pal, the clockend was louder

not sure why your having a pop at my support, I know its great v the scum and chelsea but at small games only pockets of the block 6 and block 5 area stand up. Obviously its good that people like you attend games and well done to you but I'm not sure why your getting touchy.

players run over your way when they score? well sometimes but theres only 4 corners to go

It wasn’t a pop at you , I just know you don’t go home games anymore as you prefer away games.

Was just trying to say that its hard to judge unless your actually there or in the block itself.

I never knocked your support fella

Your right about some small games and not being as loud. However I do know that the players always choose our corner to run to when they score and that because they only really hear us.

They could choose the other corner in the north bank but never do. They always go out of there way to run over to us. Why would they do that if its so quiet?

I don’t see anyone in block 6 sit down from the first rows to the back its all standing. Same as most of 5

As I said fella next time your at a match stand in block 6 and see what you think.

Sometimes in 2nd half we call people up to join us in block 6 just to get more noise going. As its standing you get away with getting 2-3 people to each seat.
If your ever up for it let me know. Its not like the old days but its the closest thing too we have! :barscarf:
Games like Everon, Carling cup semi final and the Chav game show what it could be like.
Wish it was like that all the time though

This is the age old debate regarding the RedAction section. I do stand there but its never "We are the atmosphere" but an area that wants to create or join into songs from elsewhere aswell as start some.
I am right in thinking that we all want a better atmosphere at the ground so wherever your seat is try to make a difference with others near you.
We have 90 mins to be part of the game and not treat it like a tv game..

I don't get all the negativity about, and hatred towards, RedAction. All they are trying to do is make the stadium a better more "football" orientated place and unfortunately to do that they have to work WITH not AGAINST the owners of the stadium; The Club. The club have the power - nothing gets done in there without their ok. That is the sad fact of the matter. It seems to me that to a certain extent RedAction have realised this and chosen to try and make change by working within the only framework available.

Sure we'd all like a stadium that felt like home and was a coldrum of noise and atmosphere but alot of that has to come from the fans and we unfortunately have alot of fans that just don't bother. If RedAction can help improve the stadium even a bit then that's something.

I must qualify the above though by stating I do not agree with their position with regard to supporting Wenger without question, but that comes down to a difference of opinion.

As I watch any game I'm over for now from the (mostly) silent CE upper, personally I'd love to stand in Block 6 (or anywhere there are Gooners singing and chanting). Getting beered up with your mates, singing and chanting until your throat is raw - that's what football is all about.

At the end of the day RedAction are Gooners. Let's keep the hate for the scum, chavs and manc filths of this world.

It is inevitable that this thread would just turn into a big REDaction bash. I would question the need for Boomer to actually cut and paste the email onto the forum, as surely everyone who agrees with REDaction ideas etc is already on the mailing list and fully up to date, and creating a thread on this is just an opportunity for the haters to get stuck in and say

‘What a shit idea’

‘This is embarassing’

Etc

But if they watch on TV tonight, and see nothing specific happening in the crowd, the very next day people will be moaning ‘Why didn’t REDaction do anything?’ Is it better for there to be the normal 6,000 empty seats at kick off as people stroll in after 7.45?

If you have ideas, then lets hear them. If you don’t like what REDaction do, let’s hear your better FEASIBLE suggestions. I am all for constructive criticism, and I like to think that some posters have changed their opinions a bit, as they admit that something is better than nothing and while not agreeing with everything RA do, they freely admit that they themselves have neither the time nor inclination to get involved themselves, and give some respect to those that do.

I will try not to bore you with the details, but Liverpool local council have different rules regarding large ‘crowd surfing’ flags to Islington, so who wants to spend £1500 on a flag you can’t even get into the stadium?? That, my friends, is reality, and there ain’t much we can do about that. If anyone wants to fight that fight, then be my guest.

I agree that scarves work much better, but the club gave away 60,000 not so long ago, and how many bought them back to the next home game to try the same effect? 500 maybe?

I cringed as I watched the pre match display in the San Siro last night, and sure enough REDaction have received half a dozen emails since on ‘why don’t we do that at Emirates?’ Put simply, it won’t work with so many seats still empty as the teams come out of the tunnel.

Every time a banner has been hung over Club level onto the lower tier, there are complaints to stewards, fans fighting among themselves etc, as they cannot see the warm up or the teams coming out of the tunnel. People email the club the next morning to complain. Seriously.

Everybody wants a great atmosphere at home games, but so many people are unwilling to make the sacrifices required. Until that changes, it will always be a struggle to make a difference.

Personally, I give up a huge amount of my own time to this kind of thing every season, and it continually frustrates me that the criticism is relentless, but the new ideas from those criticising are few and far between.

So, what have you got?

I'm not sure anyone really hates redaction, but as a group who the club seem to recognise as the representatives of Arsenal support, I think that they should be open to criticism if people do not like their efforts - whether those same people propose something or not - because after all, is what they do gets taken on, then it affects everyone.

If what they do is at the maximum of what the club would allow, then I think it's fair that some people do want any part of it - and I don't think it's true to say that anything is better than nothing in all cases.

Do you stand in block 6 mate? - No you don’t obviously

If you had the chance to stand there any match you wanted , would you? – Most probably yes you would

Without doubt the red section blocks are by far the best place to be in the ground. Nothing else even comes close. As DB10 said who wouldn’t want to stand with your mates, shout, swear, sing till your throat is sore and get drunk with all your fellow gooners.

I couldn’t imagine sitting down at the grove for the whole match, or not standing with a huge group of mates all getting drunk watching the footie.
