we are going top today! and other sat games

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

nope still stable/flatlining
we have a chance of the league but I think we'll prob be 2nd
which is progress. The team has improved.

I think losing 3 keepers is spectacularly unlucky and its silly to criticise the manager for that - if we bought one or two keepers we would have had to shift on one or two of the young poles. Nobody has brilliant 3rd/4th choice keepers.

Losing Djourou is unlucky but its far easier to blame the manager we all thought some additional defensive depth was necessary (additional being the key word - no1 thought we needed MORE keepers just better ones)

see I'm still finding excuses for the manager and improvements in the team

JD!!!! Don’t be silly fella

If we would of signed a quality keeper he probably wouldn’t of got injured and even if he did we would have had Ches or Flappy who wouldn’t of played in the first place.

The keeper errors – Wengers fault , came back to bite him – now he looks like an idiot

Not signing a CB, lying to us all in January. – Has come back to bite him, he looks like an idiot

Thanks Arsene you cost us another league defeat – all because of a few million pound

why would a different keeper not get injured?
nobody was saying our keepers are too injury prone or that we don't have enough of them
just that they were shite

if we signed a new keeper Chesnay would have put in a transfer request and gone
he wanted to even when we didnt ffs

No one knew that Ches would come good back in the Summer. We needed a new keeper then and we do now. It’s as simple as that

You will run out of excuses soon.

So we didn’t need a new CB in the summer or in January?

Then let the fucker go. He is a 20 year old kid who should be happy to bide his time to get in the first team, if he isnt then goodbye..... we should have a top class keeper in goal for us not one with potential, Almunia and flappy should be outed with a top class keeper as number 1 Chesny as number 2 and if he has anything about him Shea as number 3. We are Arsenal Football Club if player is unhappy with that then fuck them off

when George Graham joined Arsenal Keown asked for a pay rise when GG refused he asked for a transfer and left, who regretted it the most after we went on to win Championships and cups? Keown did. There is too much pandering to players this is half of Arsenals problems

May I just remind you that our 3rd choice goalkeeper started season as our No1 keeper and in fact had been our No1 keeper for at least 2 previous seasons. Is that nothing to do with a manager?

Really, in what area?

Keeper: even more tragic this season than last

Defence: Campbell, Gallas, Vermaelen bettered by Koz, Squid and Djourou? Not a prayer.

Midfield: Arshavin & Cesc way off last season's form, Denilson & Diaby gone backwards (if that was possible) offset by Nasri & Theo improvement and Jack but on balance no change. Still no back up for Song so no improvement there either.

Up front: Eddy replaced by Chamakh, not much difference in my mind, RVP, Bendtner same old same old and can argued the best forward ever Nicky was more effective last season.

Team spirit: lol, weaker now than it's ever been under Wenger's dictatorship.

Finances: even they're down on last season.

So where exactly is the improvement in the team/club?

Good point re the shop, I also forgot that this time last year we were all seriously worried as to whether or not our great leader would leave us, but thankfully he's signed up to 2014.

Stability restored.

He has a history of picking up long term injuries so why did Wenger count on him to stay fit for the entire year :?

Every other contract has been a long drawn out affair - but the last contract he couldnt sign quick enough.

Funny that.
