We tried to sign Rednose before GG... how different things might have been. But then, Rednose has always had money at Utd and was able to pay top wages - would he have been as successful with us and our notorious pay structure in the 80's and 90's? Certainly he would have had SOME success, but as much?

Probably haven't copied that quote correctly - not sure how you do it but anyway ...
Hard to say of course but what cannot be denied is that Fergie gets every last drop out of his players and they play with a maturity and composure that often belies their ability. His teams generally manage to combine defending well with attacking in numbers. I sometimes wonder where our players go?!? .. when we attack half of them are strolling over the halfway line then when an attack gets broken down they are nowhere to be seen?!?. It goes without saying that this present crop have absolutely no composure or maturity at all.

If ferguson had taken over from 2007, we would probably have more success in that period than he has had with united!
It's highly debatable whether he could have got us to that point, with the new training ground, stadium and low transfer spend.
Highburyjd, manure haven't been the dominant financial force since 2004 and weren't in 1996 either.

How about the Champions League Final in 2006?Red Carpet wrote:Trophies we SHOULD have won
UEFA Cup Final 2000
FA Cup Final 2001
Premiership 2003
Champions League 2004
FA Cup 2004
League Cup 2011
Thats SIX
Trophies we COULD have won
Premiership 1999 (lost by 1 point)
FA Cup 1999 (missed last min pen to knock out Man U)
Premiership 2008 (When Eduardo got injured at Birmingham that would have
sent us 8 points clear)
