NO you cannot assign a monetary value for sale for something that in fact is not sale on its own. You do not just hire a manager solely for the purpose of employing tactcis or motivating players, though certainly those are important parts of the job, but until someone shows me what a club actually pays for either of thiose alone their isn't even a market against which to judge that.

Actually you can to an extent. Not fully but there can be little argument that if insufficient funds are available it can dictate the pool of talent you build your team from and thius the tactics you employ with it.

As for the list of motivational factors again everyone is overpaid relative to therir recent performance improving the manager and when you add that to being under no pressure to produce any better than they are by the people paying them those wages that can be extremely de-motivating.

And again the fact that that is part of what a manger is paid for still does not allow us to assign a monetary value to it until managerial contracts are broken down into amounts for those things.. Mr Wenger gets between 4-5 million a year I believe right now You tell me how much of that he is paid for tactis and motivation as opposed to say minimizing transfer spending and maximizing transfer profit margins. I believe the latter uis what he is paid for more, but I couldn't tell you an actual number.

I'm afraid I don't quite agree. I'm not dismissing your argument given how shite Chelsea and united are this year, but I think that underestimates just how lacking this squad really is. It's not 2-3 players its more like 5-6 players short and that's only if you can get a grimandi type and Wiltord type who can be effective in more than one position to replace a couple of the weak links on our bench that are forced to play too regularly to let us win.
