The ST waiting list

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Anyone know what happens if you're offered an st and turn it down?
You can defer the offer for up to 2 seasons, as this is what I have done ... After the 2 deferrals you either buy one or lose your place in the ST list.

I got Silver Membership at the start of this season so have a really hard decision this summer as I'll lose the Silver if I take ST ...

I've always been offered the expensive Upper Tier Seats at around £1,300 was hoping they'd offer Lower Tier this season .. Unlikely!!

The obvious perk of ST is not having to navigate that ridiculous Box Office to get your tickets, although the downside is paying £1,300 up front for some of the shambles we've seen at home this year!!

Cheers, yeah it looks like the only st available will be expensive upper tier ones. Would be good to save box office hassle and have a chance at Wembley tickets but sticking with silver probably for the best

I remember supporter services on the .com forum saying that they are going to put this waiting list online hopefully sometime next season. Imagine it will be a long wait though to move up.

I really doubt if the waiting list for season tickets is anywhere close to that number
What do you mean Augie?

There are definitely 40K on the waiting list but no where near that amount would take up a season ticket if offered in the summer.

What I mean is that this 40,000 waiting list figure has been banded about for a few seasons now. Last summer we are led to believe that people in the 10k-12k mark got offered season tickets by the club so I assume it is safe to say that 10,000 is already knocked off that 40,000 figure ? Now this summer we will see even more non renewals and even more refusals from people on the waiting list so lets be honest here....do you honestly believe we have 40k waiting to buy a season ticket ?
i do:

i very much doubt that there are 36756 people willing to actually BUY one though, i see myself moving quite a way up the list...

I am not trying to be or sound like a smart arse here but am I the only person who believes that it is in the clubs interests to talk up this long lengthy waiting list for a season ticket ? How will it look if they now come out and say "well there was a waiting list of 40k but now it is actually down to about 9k" ? They will want to maintain the myth that we are a club with a large fanbase that are still waiting for season tickets both to maintain a high commercial value to potential sponsors and also to scare fools like us into renewing every fcuking season

I just cannot continue to believe that after so many non renewals last summer and with a bleak economy ahead there are anywhere near 40k still on the list
you're spot on!!

used to be a 10-year waiting list at highbury......which never changed a year after the move (strange that!). the simple fact is that ST demand has gradually dropped off since the cl final in '06 and the day when we cannot fill the emirates for every game is fast-approaching
