RIP wearetheherd.com

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

high server utilisation would point that they getting more traffic then they were allowed/paid for. I does cost a lot to run a busy forum and they didnt really have the income to keep it going.

Really do hope that they kept their archive of stories as this was the best part of that forum, with some really good reads.

Im sure there were enough people on there who would be willing to throw a few quid in the hat every month to keep it open?

Admin was the brains behind the site, took a bit of time to run & he's a family man from what I recall. Don't think the running costs were a problem just a whip round would have sorted that out.

Anyone know how much the bill for the server would be per month or whatever?

Hopefully something will be sorted out! :barscarf:

Shame about the herd. Hopefully all the stories are backed up and ready to go back online if someone new comes in.

A sad loss, great stories board and those of us of a "certain age" :? will remember some of the stories and incidents and no, not just stuff about the violence of the times. Sadly it seems that there's no home for all this stuff any more. As I said, sad loss

Sad loss indeed.

Old boy's network, and all that. Nice bit of history, too.

Having said that, there were a fair few "cyber warriors" on there. Probably younger generation wanabees.

I did visit there occassionally. I got into an argument with somebody who posted one of those "cut your head off and put it in a box" emoticons.

Fuck me! Was I fucking scared, or what????!!!!!
