It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Stokey - would love to be there. Tell me though - is it compulsory to wipe your hands on a towel for 30 seconds before picking up the plates each time ? :D

top suggestion, mate, cheers!!! :barscarf:

it's a bit early yet, but in a while i'll surely make a thread in the basement asking people for tips on interesting places to visit.

i'm thinking of this crazy idea: as a half decent amateur photographer crazy about the pubs you have over there i'd like to meet as many pubs as i can in those 30 days (something like 100 would be cool  :o :D :D :D ) and take a pic in each of them, have a pint and then make a nice album with all of them, including some words about each.

my dentist won't like to hear those news, though

Sad news mate. The brewery in Abingdon, Oxfordshire closed eleven years ago. :(

Speckled Hen is now brewed at Bury St Edmonds in Suffolk.

They probably still do brewery tours. But it's a long way from London.

Here's a link for you....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morland_Brewery

Update. Here's a link to the new brewery's tours.....

http://www.greeneking.co.uk/gk_guided_tours.htm

And another update. This is for Harveys brewery in Lewes....

Are they the ones who run the oatcake shop in Burslem?

edit. Stokey mentioned his "outside caterers". Then he edited it out.

Which makes my post look like nonsense.

Nothing new there, I know. :?

They are outside caterers who only deal in Barbeques. You must of heard of them, they're always in the news...
Sam and Ella's Home BBQ's. But they do wrap everything in a Oatcake before cooking!

cheers, olgit!!! :barscarf:

no problem with it being far from london. i intend to go from ben nevis to cornwall this time around, so no problems in stoping along the way to drink my favourite ale and meet the brewery.

edit: (just looked for suffolk on the map, and it really is a bit too far east. is there something else worth visiting in the area?)

Why not do a tour of Fuller's Brewery?

Chiswick Bitter and Discovery are good beers.
