It isnt an act of law - it was a recommmendation in the report after Hillsboroughfrankbutcher wrote:Will never happen. The law would need to change. Would the plod allow it..?
What do you reckon?
Terracing at the E*******
The Germans do seem to have the seat/standing dilemma sussed out. I remember the old olympic stadium in Munich having standing terracing with fold down seats so that you had the option. Although, I don't recall it being any cheaper then the seat prices at Highbury. However, I would not support a move back to the old style terrace. We may be the ignored majority but at least we are humanely ignored.SWLGooner wrote:Hamburg as an example have 4300 in the standing section when seated, 8500 when standing. 500 away fans seated, 1000 standing.QuartzGooner wrote:Standing tickets a bit cheaper but you get more people in the same area so make more money than if it was seats.Bring Back Pires wrote:Incidentally, would people be willing to pay £35+ to stand up?
Because I really can't see them replacing seats like-for-like with cheaper standing tickets.
You have 30 rows in the lower tier, and 24, 425 people.
32 blocks I make that approximately 750 per block.
Eight blocks, from 5 through 12, that's six thousand seats.
33 a ticket for Cat B, thats 19800 quid from the NB Lower.
Make it sixteen thousand standing places. Charge everyone sixteen pounds, they make just over 250,000 a game.
Arsenal make fifty thousand extra a game, and you pay 16 quid to stand on the North Bank.
Cat A its 48 a ticket, call it say 30 for a standing ticket, when we play the scum they make what 480,000 from standing, as opposed to 384,000 for 8,000 seating.
You'd pay about 550 quid for a Season Ticket.
Never going to happen!
Tottenham will win the league and their fans will by a round ,the end of the world will come, pigs will fly before terracing is allowed back in the premiership!

The king of spin was saying what people wanted to hear to keep people passive.
Standing is banned, he knows he can explore it but until the law changes that's all he can do.

Ivan Gazidis has revealed that he is in favour of Arsenal exploring further the possibility of incorporating a safe standing area at the Emirates.....in fact he in favour of talking about anything remotely popular amongst the fans that diverts attention away from a disastrous end of season and meek display so far in the transfer market!
