Good shout, obviously as his contract runs down he will command a lesser fee so if I am correct at the end of next season he will have 3 years left.mike wrote:The way i see it is that Barca have only ever been willing to offer 30/35 mill - So a deal will only be done when that price is acceptable to us. Next summer i reckon.
That would probably attract an offer of around 25-30 million which you have said barca want to offer.
I just hope that he puts in a good shift for us and gives his all in the last season, a fit and focused cesc is a brilliant player no doubt, I saw a stat today (On ARSEBLOG) that he has more assists in the top 5 leagues in last five seasons than any other player, ahead of dani alves, messi and chavi.

Absolutely right.Percy Dalton wrote:He wants to go, Barca want to buy him and Arsenal are willing to sell so can we please just thrash out a price and move on.
Cesc wasn´t fully commited to our club last season, let him go if he wants to. I think he prefers to sit on Barca´s bench than playing alongside players like Eboue or Diaby.
However the price has to be right: 40m at the minimum for me.
Players I´d accept as part of the deal (and consider realistic):
Mascherano
Krkic
Affelay

That's a bit harsh frank. If 9 goals and 17 assists in 35 appearances of a largely injury-hit season constitutes not caring and sulking your way through a campaign, then perhaps we might have actually done better if some of our other players 'hadn't cared as much'!!franksav63 wrote:I'm getting passed caring about this 'saga' now, suffice so say, if he stays we'll be the ones to suffer, as he'll do what he did last season and sulk his way through the campaign to our detriment.

He may of got those kind of stats but clearly it doesn’t work.
Since we built the team around Cesc we have been losers. The short pass method is flawed and teams such as stoke can work it out a mile off. Cesc could get all the goals and stats he wants but as more and more weaker teams work us out we will suffer as we have no plan b. Teams like Blackpool have gone so the stats wont be as high this season.
Sell Cesc, it don’t work and get a more dynamic, fast counterattacking play again.
People say how great we are to watch, but as the stoke fans said “boring , boring , boringâ€

I stand by what I said, Cesc sets no example, and I also don't believe he was injured towards the end of last season but given an Almunia type of injury i.e. a non-existent one, the sooner he goes, the sooner we can get players in who actually care about playing for us!!I Hate Hleb wrote:That's a bit harsh frank.
