City to sign gael for 7 million

Then I got to thinking, Clichy looked a real prospect when he broke into the team and many of us believed he was better than Cole.
Now with his move to city all but done, should we be worried that Clichy's loss of form and regression were as much to do with Wenger's inability to coach a defence as any shortcomings on Clichy's part?
Is it possible that with a move to City and some proper coaching, Clichy will get his career back on track and become one of the best left backs in the league?
I personally think it is indeed possible, it would be another damning testimony to Wenger's management.
Clichy has relied on his pace from day one, both for defending and going forward, ones he loses that I think he will start looking very bad. Plus at City he will be expected to cross the ball...which will be hillarious to see .

As for coaching defending, I'm pretty sure Rice will be doing most of the coaching..

Good business in my opinion, thanks for the money now fuck off Clichy - never good enough for Arsenal.

Abiding memory - has to be Birmingham and that penalty amoungst other fucks up.

I hope he's happy at Citeh with all that money - he'll be at some where like Birmingham or Villa within 3 years.

Not bothered about this, glad he's gone, would have been more gutted if he got a rise to stay.

Good riddance. Transfer is about three years too late.

Goodbye you dozy nob

Glad that i never have to watch the longest-standing player at the club being the most clueless, scatter-brained bottlejob of the lot.

Never forgiven for the NLD that shant be named, the birmingham debacle and the failure to top our CL group last season and countless others.

I actually think his worst crime has been overlooked - giving away that penalty against Villarreal in the last minute of the CL SF. It was only because Lehmann saved his ass that it's been forgotten.

The Birmingham mistake was never a penalty, just harsh reffing.

People are far too quick to forget the good performances and hard work he gave us.

He used to lose concentration and his sale is likely good for us, but by no means was he a bottler.

Agree with this 100% - he has been badly exposed in the last 2 seasons purely cos wenger hasnt got a tactical brain cell in that fcuking head of his and his stupid system is killing both of our full backs  :x

Wasnt worried when Cashley left as thought Clichy was as good if not better but didnt work out that way and i think augie is right about Clichy being exposed too much but im not sorry to see him go. I just hope Gibbs isnt given the left back spot from what ive seen of him he is not ready
