When I was a kid it was always Adidas Rom and Converse. Loved them. Went through a Nike Air Hi-Top phase in the 80's (was in a Metal band so it was skin tight jeans and hi-tops all the way
).
Nowdays either Asics, Adidas, Reebok or Nike... anything really.

Size have reissued the Forest Hills in the original colourway (not the poxy ones you see at JD!), I might get myself a pair!

If you look at the Mertesacker video on the Arsenal player he's wearing adidas L.A. Trainer and they seem OG!

I only wear trainers when at the gym or playing indoor, otherwise never wear them, always think they look scruffy.
I have one pair and don't even know what brand they are.

They were a big part of terrace culture and still are to a certain extent! But each to their own!
