Arsenal v Liverpool

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

If the Liverpool game is like this, matches against the likes of Bolton, Wigan, Blackburn in the winter are gonna be a hard sell. There'll be so many empty seats you could probably have a lie down & a snooze
"And today's attendance........... Sixty thousand.... [cue jeers drowning out rest of attendance figure]"

First home game of season against scousers

I wonder has the penny finally dropped :?:
Put it this way. I'm on holiday for this game - I've got 2 silver memberships and 2 JG memberships.

Normally fellow Gooners that rarely get to games almost rip my arm off to borrow the memberships when I'm not going, but no takers within friends and family this time. General reaction is the sharp intake of breath at the prices - remember its category A - and a resignation that "oh well I suppose its on Sky and we already pay enough for that".

I've said before, I'm pretty lucky that I have decent enough job that allows me to go to most home matches with the family if I want. But I also recognise that not everyone is in that position

For a family of four in the Family Enclosure for this game it will set you back £140 + booking fees. From where I live a group travel ticket would be around £30 for the day plus food/drink/programme. Best part of £200. How many families can stump that up for a day out.

For a category B game the £140 drops to £98. How can the club justify a 43% premium to watch Liverpool in a televised match ??
