It will be interesting to see how many of the new signings line up for this one. Still think anyone assuming this is a formality should think again.

I was just thinking the same. Not going to be an easy game at all. We just need a win without any of the fancy stuff right now.

I'm expecting at least Santos and Arteta as starters. Mertesacker is a possibility.

I would have said he is a must.

I guess a lot depends on how match fit Benayoun and Arteta are but I would certainly expect to see Peter Crouchersacker!

Oh for sure - I'm just not sure Wenger will put that many new faces out. I want Mertesacker to start but i'm not convinced Wenger will go for it....

Does anyone think we shouldn't play Mertasacker for this one? Swansea has a really pacy trio of attackers and mainly play a passing game. That means there'll be no aerial bombardment for Mertasacker to deal with. And also pace will be a constant threat, and as we know Mertasacker is not the fastest of players. So I think maybe Djourou would be better suited for this game.

I'm happy to give Santos and Arteta their debuts. Can't see how Santos can be worse than Gibbs and without Wilshire, Arteta is a must. Wouldn't mind Chu or Ryo getting a chance instead of Arshavin; although I'd prefer that to happen when the three points are guaranteed.

All in all, I think it'll be a comfortable win. We'll rise to the occasion, as we did against Udinese. By the way, does anyone know that Swansea are the only side to have still not scored this season? Bet they'll start against us

I'm in row 6, right behind the goal in the North Bank. :barscarf: think I will need a good pre-match pint beforehand though.

Same here, but got my lil'un this weekend and the ex takes issue with me putting Arsenal above the kiddie. Not sure how that's the case when I take her to the games, but whatever :banghead:

Anyway I think an early goal should settle the nerves, longer it goes on at 0-0 more pressure will be put on the team but I'm confidently saying 3-0 8)

Walcott is a doubt for the England game tonight with a hamstring strain, if thats the case I'm guessing he could be a doubt for the Swansea game too. Debut for Benayoun?

I wouldn't want to see Djourou start ANY game! Totally incompetent defender who is an absolute liability. People talk about Mertesacker as if he can't even run! Adams was slow but his positioning bought him a couple of yards head start. Mertesacker is a top class defender and gives us something that none of our CB's(except possibly TV) have.....quality!

This game has 'draw' written all over it. I expect 0-0 or 1-1
