This is to all the people who are trying to blame Gazidis and the board for the piss-takingly low price Cesc was sold for. Read it and weep Wenger-lovers

'Fabregas finally sealed a move back to Barcelona last month after a lengthy chase by the Spanish champions.
Wenger has often been accused by the Spanish press of abducting Fabregas from the Barca academy and keeping him away from the club he wanted to return to, yet Fabregas insists that perception is totally wrong.
"That is the wrong picture of him, had it not been for him, I would not now be a Barca player," he told El Pais.
"Without him I would not have made my debut by 16, played in the final of the Champions League at 18 and been team captain by 20.
"Without him I would not be a Barca player now, he convinced the owners of Arsenal, who would not sell under any circumstances, to lower the price."

BLAME THE BOARD THEN!
Wenger. Incompetent fuckwit of the highest order.

'Fabregas admits that training at Barcelona is something he has never witnessed before.
He said: "It is the most beautiful thing I have seen in my life, all you hear is the ball going - tap, tap, tap - I have never seen so much training at this level.

Seriously Cesc? I would have thought training with Alex Song, Diaby, Rosicky, Chamakh, Benayoun and Choo Young would have made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up!

we needed the money, we should have got the highest price for him, sadly barca was far more shrewd than we were.psychoangus wrote:He didn't want to play for us, what's the point in keeping him.
Do you think you would have an emotional arsenal fan in charge of negotiations, if when a players wants to go the first response is to get him out of the door as fast as possible.

I understand that, but in terms of players wants, he's wanted to leave for two or three seasons and hasn't kicked up a fuss when he's asked to stay on. He signed that long contract with us so that we'd get maximum amount of money when we sold him.Supagoon wrote:we needed the money, we should have got the highest price for him, sadly barca was far more shrewd than we were.psychoangus wrote:He didn't want to play for us, what's the point in keeping him.

It doesn't matter whether he went for 35 or 80 million. You know the money's not going back into new signings, so who cares? The rest would hopefully have gone into the stadium debt (is there still any outstanding on it?) and at worst into the board's pockets.
35 million isn't far off his real valuation. Carroll and Torres are total overinflations of the market, everyone can see that, so for a guy who's won hardly anything for the club and wasn't a brilliant captain, I think 35's ok.

"I feel I still have much to learn, this team is highly mechanised and there are things I have to catch up on particularly in defence," he said. "I have never seen a team that is so focused on the attack-defend transition - playing against Barcelona is very complicated but playing at the club is not so easy and that is the challenge.
Just proves Wenger doesn't have them train in defensive tactics.

So far now then, that is Nasri, Clichy and Cesc who have all come out and mentioned how shocked they were by the intensity and professionalism of training at their new clubs.
As for Wenger what a wanker. I feel disgusted that the club had the front to charge fans 6.5% extra, meanwhile Wenger continues to pick up his £6.5 mil a year unchallenged and we are acting like Save the Children with Barca, giving them top class midfielders in exchange for sherbert. Remember that this is the club that got swindled ou t of 70 million Euros for Zlatan, 28 million Euros for Chigrinsky etc.
I repeat: Ronaldo was a one club auction and he went for 90 million Euros was it not?
Cesc was a one club auction and he went for an Andy Carrol.
And we now have conclusive evidence that the board were the ones who were resolute in keeping him, and that it was WENGER who went to the board to beg him to give him away on the cheap. Guy is a fucking clown it beggars belief.
Yet people dare to call this moron a great economist? While he was giving discounts on Cesc (the board weren't willing), he was willing to forego a £24 mil fee on Nasri (until the board forced him to accept it), he was also willing to forego a good sum for a Far East tour (until the board forced him again)...all the while, Chamakh, Diaby, Song, Denilson, Almunia, Shitachi, Flapianski and Rosicky are all still sitting on massive wages at the club.
While the fans get hoodwinked out of 6.5%. Arsene can pick up his £6.5 mil a year, continue to disparage the fans in public but then the hard-up fans are supposed to foot the bill for his years of incompetence.
What a fucking pisstake club Wenger FC has become.

TeeCee. One thing you are forgetting is that Wenger has no shame. No humility. He's proved this much. If 95% of the fans decided they wanted him out he would still stay and talk about the 5% of AKBs that wanted him in charge.
People must never forget that Wenger is now desperate to keep his job at Arsenal. Why? Because no top elite club in their right mind would ever employ him. You think Real, Barca, Bayern or Man United would ever touch him? You're mad if you think they would. Perhaps one of the Milan clubs might but he'd be sacked within 6 months, if that.
Wenger now needs Arsenal more than we need him. Bewteen 1998-2005 Arsenal needed Wenger more than he needed us. He could have walked into any job in football in that period. Right now, that 8-2 has completely scarred him.
Think about this: Wenger wanted to keep Nasri and let him go on free. The board overruled him. That's interference on the playing side. Did Wenger moan or complain? Nope. Did he threaten to walk? Nope. I know Mourinho or Guardiola would have threatened to quit if this happened to them. Wenger just sat back and took it.
Why? Because his £6.5 million a year for working in a pressure-free environment with ballerinas doing dance steps at Colney suits him perfect.
Next up, he was desperate to go to Austria. Kroenke overruled him. AW said nothing and just took it. Think he did that out of love for the AFC fans? What you mean the same fans he abuses in public? No chance.
Again, this was done for self preservation and that nice £6.5 million a year scam he's got going for himself.
Next up, the giving a 29 year old Arteta a 4 year contract: do you HONESTLY think that was Wenger's decision! No chance! Signing more than 3 players?? Was this not the same manager who said 'signing more than 2-3 players is counter-productive because it disrupts a team's flow and makes it a little bit more difficult to get any rhythm'.
So again, Gazidis clearly went over his head and forced him into bringing in experience. Which explains why he sulked off to Switzerland and left the others to it. Wenger's targets were M'Vila and Hazard. Except left to Wenger, Arsenal would have got no one. Since the idiot waited until the 11th hour to bid for both, leaving their respective clubs no time to find replacements!!!
So the board are now running ting and Wenger is bending over and taking it up his wrinkly French hole. Why does he not threaten to walk away? Because he likes his money and privileges too much.
PSG are waiting for you with open arms mate. Piss off over there please.
See how long the Boulogne Boys tolerate teams of Diabys, Songs, Eboues, Almunias and Chamakhs. He will have his house and car burnt down in an instant.

Yet again you miss the point on this..no surprises there then!Babatunde wrote:Barca bent Arsenal over and screwed us because they don't see Arsenal as a big club. They see Arsenal as a tiny club ripe for bullying, and on the evidence of the Cesc transfer then this is correct. I laugh when I keep hearing excuses about 'one club auctions'. Ronaldo only wanted to move to Real, no other club was in the running but Fergie still managed to bleed Real for £80 mil. Now I'm not suggesting Cesc is worth as much (though he is as good as Ronaldo for my money)...Ronaldo was the reigning world and European player of the year, Cesc has never won such an accolade. Ronaldo has won everything at club level, Cesc has won nothing yet (not his fault, playing in a crap team).
HOWEVER. Fabregas was sold for an Andy Carroll and I'm sorry the bare minimum he should have been soldm for was £50 mil. Therefore it makes me laugh to hear jokers go on about how 'Arsene doesn't have the funds to compete' when he continues to give players away like penny sweets.
I have to admit though that Gazidis is the one I am looking at more than anything on this. Guy is a fucking epic CLOWN.

Ronaldo didn't originally come from R.madrid - also it is well known that fergie agreed the sale of ronaldo a year ahead of the actual sale - on the agreement that:
a) Ronaldo gave manure one more year
b) all loyalty bonuses WOULD be honoured - which meant manure had to give ronaldo £7 mill
As you well know Cesc DID come from Barca and everyone (obviously bar you DUHRRR) knew he would one day return there.....it was simply a matter of time....the fact that Cesc himself gave up $5 mill to ensure the move - also means we recieved in essence £40 mill - still at least £10 - £15 mill short of his true worth by todays standards..btw there were no agent's fee's paid by Arsenal..only by Barcawhores
You say "I laugh when I keep hearing excuses about 'one club auctions'"
But THAT is exactly what it was - Yes, we could have said okay cesc to the highest bidder, But The 'agreement' made with Cesc in the Summer of 2010 was that IF he stayed for one more year - He could go to the club of his choosing - which of course is/was Barcawhores - But Barca being the classless scum hey are - took full advantage of that
'agreement'
You then go on to slag off Arsenal (yet again)
"playing in a crap team"
and so by inferrence you calling all the players in the team "Crap"
which is NOT true ...I don't usually bother reading anything you post as its the usual 100% bile that just slag off Arsenal soaked bile....and yet again you have done the same thing, but all your posts etc have become a 'Joke' and it's nauseating to see you slag off the team/club/players/ anyone connected to Arsenal....anyone would think you were Not an Arsenal supporter.
When are you actually going to get behind the team?...unless of course you are NOT a Gooner and just a a WUM...which seems more and more likely with every 100% negative thread and post you infect this forum with.
There is a difference between criticism and just slagging off and moaning on and on ad infinitum, are you even capable of 'Constructive Criticism' ?
I have yet to see you post/say anything 'Positive' about anything or anyone at Arsenal...without bitching and whinging
As for Gazidis being a clown?...No he is a "Suit" and a good one too - when the Board appointed him they knew what they were doing, they now view us as customers..not fans..and so they have put a 'suit' in place to be their public face of the finances - if you don't or cannot see that

btw: I believe Frank is still awaiting an answer!?
