Szczesny to Barca?

surely not another? :banghead:
Hope that's an 'injury'
Yeah but when Jack hobbled off in the Emirates Cup I kinda hoped that was an 'injury' to get out of the England game.

I'm not surprised Chesney's back has gone - he's spent the best part of two months carrying ten sacks of shit every week

imagine our current crop of shitty outfield players, but with almunia from 3 years ago in goal. we would be below bolton and not even in the CL group stage.

Szczesny tempted by Barcelona

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is happy at the club at present but has indicated he would welcome the chance to join Barcelona in the future.

Reports have linked Szczesny, 21, with a move to the Spanish and European champions, the Poland international having been in fine form for the Gunners so far this season, despite their poor start to the Premier League.

Szczesny signed a new long-term contract at Emirates Stadium in November 2010, having firmly established himself as Arsene Wenger's first-choice shot-stopper, and the youngster considers Arsenal "his second home".

But, of the recent speculation over his future, Szczesny told polskathetimes.pl: "I can't declare that I will spend my entire career here, but if I leave I will have a very important reason or I will go to Barcelona."

Szczesny added that, should he leave Arsenal in the future, his decision over his destination would not be financially motivated. He said: "I can't imagine a situation where I would leave this club just for money."

Amid claims Arsenal lack leaders on the pitch, Szczesny has stated his ambition to one day captain the club, with Robin van Persie the side's current skipper following the sale of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona in the summer.

He said: "I feel that when I say something, everyone listens to me. More so on the field than in the dressing room, but that's more important I think.

"I want to be the captain of the team. I feel that I am able to take on that responsibility. I always wanted to be captain and if I ever get that honour, I will gladly put on the armband."

I Hate Hleb wrote:He's more than 'the best of a poor bunch'!! The lad, although still very young, has proven since getting into the first team that he is a quality keeper. He just happens to be handicapped by playing behind the worst Arsenal defence in living memory. Yesterday's mistake aside, he has been playing out of his skin so far this season and it's thanks mainly to the Pole that we're as high in the table as we currently sit!! :banghead:

Agree, I would say he is the reason we are playing CL football this year.

For a keeper that has let in 235 goals so far this season he certainly has a high opinion of himself!

Sneezy's tweets as of today:

I got annoyed with a few things about myself in the media recently so I'm gonna set the record straight.

1) I never said I deserve an Arsenal armband. I said that I would love to one day take a responsibilty of being an Arsenal skipper.

RVP is doing a great job as a skipper and he fully deserves an armband.

2) I AM injured and had to be pulled out of Polish national team. Hope to recover asap. (Thats for Polish media)

3) Please continue the "Szczesny to Barcelona" rumours. Makes me laugh everytime I read it :) haha
