WENGER interview admits to summer of discontent
Surely people are bored with the continual conjecture about players wages?
You could go back and look at when we signed every player in the squad and find that other clubs wanted the same players (Diaby for example) but they were not signed as duds. Some worked out and others didn't - ladies and gents, it's the world of fucking football. The extended contracts are due to the thought that the players still have it in them to do the business, again, some work, some don't.

Arsenal have been going down hill since before Kroenke held the majority of the shares. Him leaving now ain't gonna change shit.Supamac wrote:I totally agree with that! and that would be my critism of him this summer he should have been more ruthless and acted sooner. But how much of that was due to him or due to the board I dont know for sure.. but imo AW get alot of stick for the boards in-action. I dont want Wenger out, I want kronke out. All hes good for is maintining the status quo.. and our (and arsene's) position will only get weaker under himCockerill's chin wrote:Its his dressing room to a man though supermac. Perhaps he should have managed it better so it isn't full of those ten pussies or an Arshavin who doesn't give a toss.
And I'm happy to be corrected here, but doesn't Wenger sit in on the board meetings?
They're all as culpable as each other but only one man has total responsibility for what happens on the pitch and the training ground.
That man has gone "Full Metal Jacket"
And the result is there for all to behold, a team that struggles to create good scoring chances, that has as much defensive strength as me trying to stop the Pittsburgh Steelers overload blitz, that is full of average players being paid world star wages.
Or in laymans terms, a bunch of *word censored*.

I dont recall Arsenal fighting off a swathe of BIG clubs for the signing of Diaby. And if he did choose us over a bigger club, perhaps its because Wenger persuaded him to come here for the big wages & contract extensions for doing fuck all? No club with an ounce of ambition would have kept the likes of Denilson / Diaby / Bendtner / Almunia for SOOO LONG.kiwomya wrote:Surely people are bored with the continual conjecture about players wages?

In terms of the farcical contract extensions we offer - Tomas Rosicky is a prime example of the incompetence of our club. He was out for the whole 2008-09 season, and after just a few months of his return, On 4 January 2010, Rosický signed a new two-and-a-half-year deal with Arsenal stating, “"It's felt like home since I arrived here four years ago and I believe we're on the verge of achieving something special together.â€

Actually Mourinho and Chelsea wanted him at the same time.biglunn wrote:I dont recall Arsenal fighting off a swathe of BIG clubs for the signing of Diaby. And he's lighting the league up right now.

Ah, okay. Should I buy myself a shirt with his name on it, in caseI ever find a situation in which I need a tent that I can carry on my body?Number 5 wrote:He's the starting quaterback for the Carolina Panthers in his rookie year.

Mind, if we look back at Chelsea over the past few years, they always seem to be interested in the players we show interest in.
No, buy me one, like I've asked you to do.SWLGooner wrote:Ah, okay. Should I buy myself a shirt with his name on it, in caseI ever find a situation in which I need a tent that I can carry on my body?Number 5 wrote:He's the starting quaterback for the Carolina Panthers in his rookie year.
