As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Blimey opened up a hornets nest there...like i said they are subjective. For me something small and personal fair enough big ones like Jack not for me. Interesting that some have said they are addictive....in what way the pain of having them done or the reaction they get.

mixture of both, the pain on certain parts of your body is really bad but i just love when its finished but my tatts all mean something to me as i have two arsenal and the rest relate to my family .
safcftm wrote:footballer or not everyone seems to get tattooed nowadays. I must admit, I made a bit of a mistake with mine- got me girlfriends name done in black ink at the top of me right arm (nice joining up letters and that, looked all classy) and then, as you do, we fell out. Nee bother I thought, St Georges cross/ SAFC badge over it I thought. Went into the place and they said "oh no mate, if the tattoo is black you cant put anything with lighter colours over it, if you do the old tattoo will still show through"
so now I'm stuck either with having her name on me arm (we kind of keep getting back on and then falling out again so its fine sometimes), getting it lasered off (nope, I'm far too soft for all that, sounds aw git painful and that) or getting some meaningless shite over the top of it to cover it
you could get it made into a think black band like a captains arm band and get the sunderland badge below
Aye, I did think of that- I also thought I could turn it into a black border for my St George's Cross- trouble is I think both options will look a bit obvious that I had a lasses name there and had to get rid
Her name is Hannah, and I know thats a surname as well, so I just keep it in the hopes that eventually SAFC will sign a "Jimmy Hannah" or something so I can pretend to be a git massive fan of his!
Couldn't you just go a bit 'weird' and have the the 2 middle 'n' letters turned into 'h's and then you're a jolly Mackem as in 'Hah Hah!!!'
Coincidentally I'm having one done this week ( top of the arm)...for me birthday - if it goes well, and I don't cry too much with the pain - I may have another one done....

upper arm doesnt hurt but if he goes onto the shoulder blade or elbow then ouch
They really don't hurt....seriously. The back is one of the worst places because there are more nerves there than anywhere else but I can honestly say my back tattoo was uncomfortable at worst. I find that it's uncomfortable for 5 mins or so (particularly the arms) then theygo numb and you can't really feel much.
I do have a pretty high pain threshold to be fair though.
Having said all that, I wouldn't get any done where it's 'bony' as that will hurt!!
