Beware the Germans are coming

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Should be a good night and make for a graet atmosphere. Had a great time in Dortmund with thier fans, met up with a few and went into one of thier fan pubs.
For any of you in the stadium and the time it was me on the tv screens being interviewed by the fan station they have. Very welcoming group of fans and a good laugh. We are hoping to get them into a few of our pubs.

Looking forward to the return leg, hope they get up and make some noise then it might goad our lot from a slumber

I take it you didn't go to Real Madrid. More Arsenal fans in with them than in the Arsenal section. Also Milan for the Super Cup, approx 300 of us together around the directors box. Lens in the UEFA semi and so on.

A lot of the lads I know that travel get tickets locally.

I was about to make exactly the same point. Madrid was phenomenal, Arsenal everywhere. I was behind the goal (lower tier) when Henry scored & there was Arsenal going doolaly all over.

I prefer going in with the home fans abroad, have done at PSV (lost 1-0), AC Milan for the 2-0 win. I didn't get any aggro, but I would understand had I got a dig in the mouth.....

Hope some of the youngsters aren't finding the thought of sitting next to a big German intimidating.... :D !

I feel everyone should cut them a bit of slack and even if they do get a bit gobby don't start reporting to the stewards, just remember how good they were to our lads out there!

Fingers crossed we meet them again in Munich for the final..... :barscarf: !!!

I'm with MK Gould, German stereotypes are so out of date. They love all the same stuff we do football, beer and women. Been over there a fair few times and never failed to enjoy myself.

I don't see what the issue is, we can't sell out own (insanely over priced) tickets, so why shouldn't they be allowed to buy them?

Yep, predicted it for weeks. I know a lot of people who had booked flights right after the draw and the demand is probably much higher than it was for the game vs Paris SG last season (10,000 travelled there, probably the best birthday I ever had).

Ironically, I didn't get a ticket because I was at Uni all day long when the General Sale started.

Most should have booked Upper Clock End, near the away section. But Arsenal seems to have stopped the General Sale because of all the bookings from Germany, atm they went back to only selling to members and buyers with booking history.

No mate. Arsenal have sold out. You and your friends have the remaining tickets. They are not even on sale to members now so you got in at the right time. Look forward to seeing you all as I can only say that the friendship towards us from BSV when in Dortmund was exceptional and I think the English and Germans are more alike than we might like to admit.
As said I was one of many Arsenal fans with the home fans in the Bernabeu. Happy days

Thanks for the clarification. Just heard that there were some tickets for sale to members yesterday evening, must have been the last available tickets then.

You can still buy tickets when you go into the page thing, just says sold out and no more tickets are going to people with no previous buying history. There's actually quite a lot of tickets left

I think we are..... The English are just as good at putting towels on the sunbeds as the Germans these days!

Really looking forward to this game. And that has a lot to do with 10,000 Germans :barscarf: !!

Always a good laugh them Germans... Cologne and Dortmund were crackers, bring on Munich!!!
Germans? Laugh? I always thought they had no sense of humour

Anyway didn't they bomb our ground and prevent football being played for 7 years meaning we lost our place as the world's biggest club as we were in the 30s?

Kuntz!
