Agreed mate,it would also show RVP that we are serious about challenging for trophies, and intent on buying quality to improve the squad.

He'd be a super signing but I don't believe we'll get him for 1 minute.

It would be a great signing and I think Wenger will break the bank for him, he knows he has to or Robin is off.

I don't believe for a second we are going to sign this guy, not in January not any time...
The press who are writing this story must be pissing their pants with laughter while they are writing it.. They even have to pretend he is going to go for 20m just to make it sound more believable.. Even though they were talking about 30-40m for him all summer, which is going to be closer to the mark when he is sold...

The sad thing is the club probably love being linked to these types of players, it makes it look like they really do have ambition... When the reality is the closest they will come to signing this guy is offering 15m for him knowing there is not a hope in hell of getting him for that, then telling us how they tried to sign him... but of course you did Arsene...

Also i wish people would stop quoting our supposed ''transfer budget'' .. :banghead: :banghead: honestly how many times do we have to spend f-all or minus before people get the message... We don't have a transfer budget, the manager spends whatever he wants and what he wants to spend is as little as possible... What is theoretically available is an irrelevance......

Wenger has a situation on his hands where he has to show ambition.

Cesc was always going, if we signed top players in the Summer he still would have wanted to go home, his time had come.

Nasri wanted money, again, I think he would have resigned if we gave him what he wanted before City showed their hand, I doubt he would have stayed if better players were signed.

Van Persie has openly declared his love for the club and we know he wants to stay and is showing us how much he loves it here on the pitch even with this saga about to unfold, he's spoken out against City in the past so it don't look like money is the main issue but he rightly wants to win something as his career is approaching the final bit.

I think Wenger will make a big signing in Jan, both Hazard and Goetze could be out of the CL and both clubs would be open to transfers, maybe that's why he padded the squad out in the Summer to wait to go big for who he really wants.

We will see, he will need to convince his captain to stay, van Basten was spot on with how its gonna go down.

Once upon a time I agreed with this statement but not anymore.......who has he got to show ambition to ? :? I disagree with your assesment of the cesc situation as well - yes cesc was always gonna go home at some stage but it is my opinion that his return was accelerated by at least 1 or 2 years by wenger's lack of ambition in recent years and if he isnt bothered about showing ambition to one of the best young talents our club has ever seen then who does he feel compelled to show ambition to ?

Without wishing to turn this into another knocking wenger thread I still have to say that the man has always felt that his knowledge and opinions matter far more than anybody who hasnt even worked half a day in the game so given that group by its nature includes fans, board members, club employee's and club sponsor's that really leaves nobody that he would feel he needs to show ambition to. He has accumulated a squad of largely spineless players who wouldnt dream of questioning him so there is nobody in there that would dare to publicly demand he shows some ambition so the chances of wenger signing top quality players is slim

If he does become available there will be a bidding war................and that will be the end of our involvement!

Besides even if Hazard and Goetze teams were both knocked out the CL, they'd be ineligible for us in the CL and there's a strong probability we'll fail to qualify for next years tournament as well.

Can only see them going manchester or spain

Yah. Like he broke the bank for Hazard when he knew Nasri was off.

Or like he broke the bank for Chamakh when Fabregas made his final season promise.

LOL

Wenger wouldn't pay the £13.5 mil for World Cup winner Mata, though all was agreed but he's gonna show ambition and pay £35 mil for this lad Goetze. Wenger wouldn't show enough ambition to keep players like Vieira, Henry and Fabregas (all better players than RVP) but this time "things will be different".

ROFL ha ha ha ha ha ha

Does Mario speak French btw??
