What she is saying is ignorant, but that doesnt mean she should be arrested. I was under the impression that your country had true freedom of speech but you do learn something new everyday.

We do have true freedom of speech. Many extreme groups hold rallys and demos here that many people may find vile or whatever but they're allowed. If you don't like it, don't turn up, or avoid said demo.

But to have someone hurl abuse in your face in a public space is not allowed. Let's say someone comes up to you and starts calling you a Yankee *word censored*, saying you're the scum of the world in front of your kid, I'd like to see you say to your child "Now we mustn't get offended, he's just claiming use of the first amendement."

If you find something offensive, you have the choice to not listen or switch channels or whatever. If that offense is being directed at you personally, in a public place where you have no-where to go and should enjoy the right to peace (such as a tram), then that is not ok.

If she wants to vent her opinion, maybe she should do it on an EDL blog or something, at least she'd find people to agree with her. But I think even they're probably not as bad as she is these days.

I showed the clip to my missus who's from east london, she wasn't fazed at all and said "Yeah, half of the people in Romford are just like that."

Firstly, it ain't my country - I'm Oirish. So Oireland would be my country...

Secondly. There is such a thing as incitement to consider. That skank could have started a riot that ended in serious violence on that tram. I believe British law does not permit incitement to racial hatred or violence? (one of our 2000 lawyers on here can clarify this?). I know Oirish law doesn't permit it. A bloke was famously arrested for calling two black guys the "N" word in Dublin couple years back. He had been overheard by an off duty cop.

Thirdly, just because the KKK are allowed spread their braindead ignorant scumbag message in the US does not mean it is right or a good thing or that the whole world should blindly follow suit.

You're right mate. Under the law, you can be arrested for inciting racial hatred, or something similar.

It's nothing to do with freedom of speech - it's the freedom to go about your daily live without some ignorant bitch slagging you off because your black/asian/polish. And then possibly causing an incident that leaves a completely unrelated person in hospital.
