Santos out for three months

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

To be fair would you want Gibbs playing in this game? I wouldn't. It's annoying that santos got injured yes, but at least it's given everyone a reason to slag off wenger again :barscarf:

Eh???

I'd say 99% on here don't think we're good enough, surely? :?

you think? i thought he looked very unwilling to overlap... which when winning 0-1 away from home in a tight game is fine, but at home at 0-0 when both our wingers were looking very isolated every time they got the ball, i really expected more attacking wise (but not from djourou, obviously)
Ye i agree with you that he didn't offer much going forward and ideally you want your full backs to do so, but his positioning was excellent. The way he tricked evertons winger into going the way that he wanted them to and then outpacing them and winning the ball was great too. He offered a lot more stability in general so i don't think the squad will suffer too much with santos being out.

Are they all in the clique then? :?
Who?
No, I'm with armchair on this.

If I understood your post correctly, you're basically saying Baba, DB10, Augie and your mates are the only ones off here who think we're not good enough. :?

If that's what you meant, then that's ridiculous.... and cliquey

The point he seems to be overlooking is that based on this season United are not good enough, Chelsea are not good enough, Spurs have been flat track bullying it so no one knows if they are good enough, granted we are not good enough and are one or two injuries away from crisis but then who ain't? United have now lost Vidic, big loss.

Some people want to be right just so they can justify their own actions if you catch my drift.

Not really mate; feel free to correct me, but what I was trying to say is that those ones afaik are the only (maybe main would be a better word) that have been consistently pointing out that these sort of runs Sept-Oct-Nov time have been commonplace for the past six years and we have never made jack all out of them.

I'd say it's down to how you define not good enough.

If "not good enough" means not good enough to win the league, or even top 2, then I'd say 99% of this forum is with you.

If you mean we're not good enough to finish top 4, then the split might be more 50/50.

But as you said our runs in recent years have come to jack all (even though we've finished top 4 every year) I can only assume you mean we're not good enough to win the league... and, as I said, that's the opinion of the VAST majority on here, not you and the minority!

Santos injury is just one more reason to sign Vertonghen fromAjax.

Daily Mail has said Martin Angha may play left back at times but he is very inexperienced and I thought when we signed him he was a centre back?

Vertonghen from Ajax should be signed, Gibbs is too injury prone.

Well all I know is it's another top notch decision by Lord Vader to play our ONLY fully fit full back in a nothing game! :barscarf:

I'm still amazed we got away without TV5 getting crocked....
