As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Respect = class. Show some, you little mong cúnts.
Not at all, I'm 19 and find Craig Eastmond's attitude absolutely disgcusting. I'd give half an arm to play for The Arsenal and, like I already do (I would hope) conduct myself in a proper manner to play for The Arsenal.
Frimpong I can maybe see more as banter to Pat but there's no excuses for Eastmond.
Manners and decorum cost nothing! If Craig's behaviour continues like this then he should be asked to leave the club..
And fair play to you Sam. Good to hear.
But I think even you'd admit you are not in the majority nowdays, mate. I see it everyday on trains etc; rude arrogant ignorant behaviour, the whole braaap braaap gangsta bollocks and the aggressive "What you looking at" swagger.

Actually you'll find the majority are decent people.
I live opposite a school and i see it all the time, when an elderly lady gets on the bus, all the little kids move, let her get in first, make sure she is seated, etc before causing all the havoc you expect from their age.
Eastmond's behaviour is a lack of proper parenting.
Frimpong's case, is just banter mixed with a bit of immaturity to realise some things are not said in public.
It really does depend on the area DB10 & MadRich - Some school's in London/Essex adopt a very good policy of zero tolerance where any bad behaviour in public would mean expulsion from the school..
Sadly that wasn't the case for mine, a lot of rude and ignorant children who caused havoc on public transport intimidating the general public.. It was embaressing wearing our school blazer, after so may incidents whoever wore the school colours were immediately judged. Took mine off when I left school to go home..
A guy swore at another guy at a football match? A disgrace? Thats a little over the top.
Ive heard a lot worse in front of kids at games, and im sure all of you have sung 'the refs a banker' at least once.
It wasnt church,
An office
Or even a party.
It was a football match.
Ps - eastmond is rubbish
what the fuck? it's not one supporter talking to another, it's a member of arsenal football club who has games for the first team!!!
imagine your kid has the awesome opportunity of seeing an arsenal player in front of him, and he speaks like that? what kind of message do you think it sends to a kid???
and that's coming from me, a guy who's extremely foul mouthed in every language i speak, and i'm not a father! but ffs mate, any decent person knows that there is a time and a place to speak whatever comes to your mind, and in front of other people's children is quite obviously not one of them? specially if they look up to you!
I remember last year, straight after the game we lost 3 - 2 against spurs after being in the lead i got the tube back to cockfoster and was sat next to Craig Eastmond, Ignasi Miquel and 1 of the other youth team okayers called Sead Harjovic or sumat like that
Throughout this they all just talked about money and laughed and joked, none of them seemed bothere at all we had just lost to our biggest rivals after being 2 up,
i thought Craig eastmond looked ok about 3 years ago when he was playing them few games for us about agaed 17, no just needs to be gotten rid of

So its ok for dads to f an blind infront of their kids at games? But not for a footballer to swear at his mate?
He's a footballer not a priest.
As for time and place. At a football match?
This may come as a shock to some but adults swear, in public. Footballers included.
Eastmond sounds like a *word censored* and I have heard some pretty shocking stories about him. Saw a five a side tourno in Clapham/Wandsworth he was playing in, he was playing against the team who were 'sponsoring', ie paying for the upkeep of his old youth club, one 40-or-so year old went through on the keeper and Eastmond just chopped him down horribly
Maybe in this context it is not but in Africa if you say 'old man' it is a mark of respect. I call all of my older SA relatives it and people on the street that; it's understood to imply wiseness, perspicacity etc.
So maybe Frimpong meant it in a respectful way; doubt it from the context but there is certainly a different cultural meaning to it in Africa.

No, it wasn't a "football match", for Eastmond it was WORK. He's employed by Arsenal, therefore he's an ambassador to the club. Mouthing off about how he's going to stab his mates (in front of his customers, and in front of children) even if meant as banter is NOT acceptable.
And yes, he's a really shit player. He probably earns at least 4 times what you do each year too. Is there any reason he's an arrogant little prick? The SOLE reason he is at Arsenal is because the club have committed to forming an academy and it needs some dross padding to ease through the next Jack Wilshere. When his contract is up he'll be back at Underhill, but sitting on the bench telling the manager "I'm a cut you up yea" because he won't sub him on.

Cock.
And you've never sworn with a work mate at work?
Come on. He's a footballer,
They aint the sharpest
Aint the prettiest
Aint the most business savy.
In fact the only thing they sometimes are reasonably good at is kicking a ball.
I dont expect much more from them.
And if my kid saw a footballer swear it would be no different from them seeing any adult swearing - in this case not ideal but understandable.

This is besides the point. If you were a businessman at a pitch and started swearing infront of clients, you'd be sacked. If you're a footballer who is working and getting paid top dollar, when you're representing the club infront of fans, who essentially pay his wages, he should behave.
It seems to have been forgotten that the thing with footballers and really any celebrity is that with their extortionate wages comes the fact that they are representing the club at all times and their behaviour must reflect that.
The lack of discipline among players nowdays is clear to see generally. I'm sure the Frimpong thing was meant in jest, but at the end of the day he's achieved fuck all in the game and should keep his head down and his feet on the ground. His attitude seems to be that he's already made it now, and he's doing his clothes line and tweeting and all that bollocks.
The reality is he needs to keep his eye on the ball because the hard work starts now.
Eastmond is just a chav and I'm not surprised by his behaviour. These players get paid good money so as someone suggested previously they should be made to wear club suits when they're not playing but attending.
They're representing the Arsenal first and foremost.

Hes a footballer paid to play football. Not be an all round good guy.
The whole british obsession with footballers behaviour OFF the pitch is just weird imo.
If you asked me if id like a group of great chaps who hold doors open to women and give to charity and finish bottom of the table or 11 complete c*nts who sh*t all over barca in the champions leaugue final id know which i'd go for.
Because i want my football team to have good footballers, thier personality IS BESIDES THE POINT.
Changing the subject for the minute AJAAFC I spotted your signature sign off at the bottom of your posts! I played against you back in that game at Highbury in 2006 and to this day it was never a penalty !
There is no place for terrible language in any walk of life. His livelihood is paid for by Arsenal, and also masquerading as some big guy, without achieving anything thus far is extremely poor behaviour anyhow. Sums up a awful lot of young players nowadays.
First and foremost they're representing the Arsenal:?

I disagree - I think personality is very important for the modern day footballer. You need to be level headed, you need to keep your head down and work hard. You need to remember that you are representing the club and get paid vast sums to do so and that we are a club with class and expect our players to reflect that - regardless of whether you're on the pitch or out with mates.
It's part and parcel of being a footballer IMO. Comes with the territory and it's what they get paid for.
