As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

that's what really sticks in my throat, i know he had a much longer contract than, say, nasri, but that's the exact message WE should be sending out: you're under contract and WE decide when you leave while you're bound by it, not you.
and like the above post says, we'd then have a season to improve the squad and prove we're worth playing for. i don't care what anyone else here says, squad wise we'd be better off at this exact minute with a focused nasri (ie one who knows he's staying till summer whether he likes it or not) than without him. is there anyone here who'd rather see rosicky, arshavin or chamakh brought on when we're chasing a goal than nasri?
Problem is though mate, there are no plans to strengthen the squad with top players, and it's been the same for years. Spuds have more ambition than us, it's a sad but simple fact.
I'll be amazed if he stays. He will leave because he wants to win trophies. He won't win trophies here because the money grabbing piece of tripe that we have on the board are so busy trying to keep the share price up for their own gain by trying to con us into believing that Uefa's Financial Fair play rules will mean all of a sudden we are going to be smothered in trophies and because of that we don't need to invest in big players.

Why - they have all sold out already, so have nothing to gain at all (you could argue that they are losing out if the share price rises higher than when they sold to Kronke)
Btw I agree that the purse strings are being controlled by the board who are showing no ambition to even attempt to reach our previous heights.
