CHESNEY ARSENAL LEGEND

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

At United there are 2 keepers of similar standard fighting each other for the number 1 spot. Chesney has almunia and flappy.

he must think he can do what he likes
4 post ago you were advocating for the return of Almunia you fucking helmet :banghead:

He says to put off opposing strikers when they're about to take a penalty apparently.

He's a proper character is Shezza.

Just a bit of banter to call him a disgrace for it is a joke. You need a sense of humour transplant.
Oh is THAT what it's about... Before I get the sense of humour transplant answer me this....

Are there many players over 33 that take penalties against him?
In which case shall we say the average age is about 27.
Now even if that particular player came from a bad family or area where teen pregnancies are rife - my guess is that IF he does say this his intended target if they do have a daughter - has one that's about 3-7 years old.
Which in a way goes from being a disgrace to SICK!
Fucks sake mate, no offence but I'd hate to be your son!

That's all.
Probably one of the most offensive things you could say - thought it was the only thing I was good at.

I realise I may have come across as a prude etc - I'm really not. I'm just not comfortable with the behaviour of the players and it therefore makes it difficult to support them when they come across as unlikeable. I'm also fully aware that the GG era had it's bad behaviour and stories - but (and maybe hypocritically) I warmed to those players.

Maybe it's just my age?

OMG I missed that corker, Almunia is as good as Chesney apparently. That would be 'Sam Allardyce's West Ham legend' Manuel Almunia...
LOL

He went for a beer after the game, so what?

I prefer him doing that then his sual of sitting at home Twittering all night.

Anyhow, he hasn't got a game for the best part of 2 weeks now so seems the sensible time to do it.

I see what you mean but if John Lukic decided to come out of retirement right now then he would be the best keeper at the club by a mile also, if his competition were the Waiter and Flappy. It's not a great achievement being the best keeper at Arsenal, since every team in the division has a better keeper than Waiter/Flappy...

right, you have every right to be a little frustrated with Shezney's recent performance. but how the hell can you say that Almunia will be better? have you forgotten the silly goals he used to watch fly in as he stood there helpless? Shezney is young and it would be too harsh to judge him like that, he has still made plenty of saves and shows a lot more confidence. dont forget the defence he has had in front of him!

strange comment, dude! :?

There is another gem somewhere in amongst the posts along the lines of "I hate Chesney - he is an arrogant moron" - can't find it at the moment, but that was my favourite. You see, without Red we wouldn't have these magic moments

I didn't realise going out in the evening after a match (when you don't have another game for 2 weeks) meant you don't care - I genuinely didn't know that.

Tell you what though, Baba - if you think that's bad, wait until you hear what the boys got up to in the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, because these Arsenal lads are amateurs when it comes to partying hard! - I blame Wenger for keeping them under better control. French Kill joy

oh wait, you're actually saying Wenger can't control them... unlike Graham, Howe, Neil, Mee, etc. who knew just what there players were getting up to off the pitch at all times, I suppose... ah the good ol'days when players behaved...
