El Classico tonight

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

For all the Gooners slating Jose, how many of you can honestly say you would not be happy with him as our next manager?

Would not want him here under any circumstances - we all bemoan the lack of class in our club nowadays and the behaviour of wenger on the sideline but that portugese *word censored* would bring us down to a whole different level  Jose is all about jose and for all the money he has spent at madrid there are nothing but a team of kickers like your stokes of this world  Any player with any level of football ability (ozil and kaka to name just 2) are being squeezed out in favour of playing pepe and diarra in midfield

I don't know how anyone can watch those 22 cheating, imaginary card waving fairies spend 90 minutes trying to get each other sent off, with any interest whatsoever

Its bad enough having that classless wanker Mancini doing it on the touchline over here

Watched one of the so-called 'classicos' last year and thought it was the most petulant fucking matches I'd ever seen

Maybe steve, but watching barca playing football from a different planet is a joy to behold 8) I mean even in our 2004 pomp we couldnt play football like that although our 2004 team might still have beaten them with pace and power 8) Having 70% possession in madrid is no mean feat for an away team steve

Thought this was a forum for Gooners

The Copa Del Rey might be mildly diverting entertainment for footie fans and a good lesson in how to cheat and dive, but some people really need to get over the fact that Barcelona's Number 4 no longer plays for AFC.

There is no denying The Whores play attractive football and are immense at pressure without the ball, but I think their "total perfect football" is a little bit overhyped (particularly by stat-happy journalists). Yes - they can, and do, link together 30 and 40-pass passing moves... but many times alot of those passes are unnecessary. They often overpass the ball.

Our 04 team was brilliantly efficient with the ball. Very few unnecessary passes. And we did it at a far quicker pace.

So while the current Whores team might "outpass" the 04 Gunners I agree with augie that the 04 Gunners would have the edge with pace, power and physical domination (Down, Jayson! DOWN! ).

But I find it very hard to enjoy Spanish football. The fucking diving, play-acting and cheating is like watching a team of Eboue's play a team of Ruud VanLongfaces.

Fucking awful shite.  :banghead:

Exactly that. I don't disagree with Augie's view on Barca's football which can be a joy to behold which is what makes it even more frustrating when they resort to those antics. I can't remember which of the El Classicos it was last season but less than 5 minutes into the game Puyol and his chums were encircling the ref, waving cards and the Madrid lot, let by Ladyboy, were every bit as bad.

There's no doubt they got RvP sent off too over there. The first yellow card he received waa a fucking joke as they were working him over and then acting like fairies when he showed any biteback.

Daniel Alves has to be just about the biggest cheating *word censored* I have had the misfortune to cast eyes on.

What a load of bollocks lads
I assume we are talking about the same 04 team managed by Wenger, that lost in the clge at home to tinkerman ranieri's chavs. I would agree that we may have beat them under a manager with some tactical nous, but certainly not under Wenger.
I would go further and suggest, that were Wenger and Pepe to have swap roles then we would certainly have beaten them.
I would say our 2006 clge final team, was superior to what was an ageing barca side, but even then Wenger managed to fuck it up, even without the sending off I still think he would have done something stupid tactically and blown it.

erm... huh? :?

I'm talking about the 04 team at the hight of their powers in the Invincibles season. I'm not saying they'd destroy the Whores but they would certainly be capable of beating them.

Can't agree with the 06 point, sid. If the German idiot hadn't got himself sent off I feel we would have beaten them. Pires stays on? And we then have the luxury of bringing on DB10 with 20 or 30 mins to go? Being a man down in that game killed us. THBW14 missing 2 sitters didn't help either of course...

:? It's still the team that lost to Chelsea (doubting myself now  )
but it's Wenger in these situation that I am questioning more than the team itself.
Amittedly the German sending off changed the game, but it changed the approach of both teams, Wenger had one tactical decision to make that night and got it imo wrong in taking off Pires.
I know with 11 we would have been in a much stronger position, but it's how Wenger would have reacted to Rijkaard's substitutions etc in an 11 v 11 situation, would he have got that wrong too?
Maybe I'm I'm slating him here without good reason, but he deserves it, the old fucker

And I'd love to shag Kelly Brook, and if you think Pepe would come to Arsenal then for once I think I have a chance.

Whether he would come is irrelevant just suprised how many people, even some realists, on this thread get all prissy about a player how doesnt mind putting the boot in in games that seem to matter immensly to him. That youtube clip where he kicks that diving cunt is what ive always wanted to do to Ronaldo when he dived for united or Rooney, Gerard and Eboue etc......

Almost seems like these posters have been brainwashed by Wenger too about how we must not tackle or be tackled or go in hard (down Jayson)

i agree to an extent, flash. he kicked an opposition player in the second half of a tough match that was 2-2, with them fighting for the 1st position with barcelona. yeah it's great to see a cheat being kicked, but i have priorities and my team winning the league is more important than kicking those fuckers imo. i would've been furious if it was an arsenal player under those circumstances.

felipe melo is the same, it's one of the reasons i hate his guts. passion, fighting spirit and desire are one thing, being a brainless dickhead who goes kicking people in the air during matches is another. difference is that pepe is a good defender while melo hasn't got absolutely a single football quality.
