David Rocastle Day

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I'm certainly not ashamed to say that I loved Rocky Rocastle, his eyes blazed with passion for our club, his feet danced around opponents with ease and he was a true Gentleman.

Along with the goals in the video v Villa, spuds and M'boro my other favourite was the screamer in the cup at Anfield in 1988 /89 which we drew 1-1 and outplayed them, giving us I believe that little bit more belief that when we played again at the end of the season that we could do it.

Gone but never forgotten sing his name loud and proud,

Their prices are a joke, I know a lot of ours boycotted that one (which we won), lads who could afford it said no for the many who couldn't, disgusting price for football. But most importantly today (and I'm even typing slow to ensure no spelling mistakes) RIP David Rocastle, top player, top bloke, much missed

Not a great tribute to Rocky today :(

On the positive side, walking to the ground an older QPR fan asked me who the Gooners were chanting about. When I told him, a broad smile crossed his face and he said "Ah I remember David Rocastle. A great player and a real gentleman."

Great to hear the song today, forget the result...it's 11 years since we lost one of our own.....

God bless David!

Yeah, got talking to a QPR fan on the bus home, fair play to him, expressed similar sentiments about Rocky. Good to see respect across clubs.

Shame the players couldn't put in a performance worthy of his memory though :cussing:
