I agree.
BUT!
Messi scored a goal to make it 2:0 at the Emirates and the goal was disallowed and as we all know it was the wrong decision. And it wasn't even close! What if the ref would have made the right decision?
It was a wrong decision that kept Arsenal in the tie and it was a wrong decision that threw Arsenal out.

Nonsense the ball came back off Pedro playing Messi offside. Despite all of this we were one kick of the ball ball from knocking them out but the chance fell to Bendtner and his fluffed it big time. That is the moment you can point to and say if RVP is still on the pitch its curtains for Barca.

Ok, it was closer than I had in mind but still it was the wrong decision.
I just think it's ridicilous to say referees are helping Barcelona by purpose. Sometimes they get a decision right and sometimes they get it wrong.

I think I understand where Flash is coming from, even though I don't really agree.

Entertaining football really requires TWO teams to contribute, and unfortunately Barca are so good at keeping possession, and so quick at moving the ball, that they almost always dominate possession and games often become very one sided and almost a training ground attack vs. defence scenario for 90mins. I suppose that can become a bit boring and predictable in it's own way... in that you can almost become too good for it to remain competitive and, therefore, it becomes less entertaining?

I can't say I'm bored of it yet though. It's a footballing master class and a pleasure to watch. The fact they can play that way against Real Madrid, ManUre, Milan and all the other top sides in Europe is unbelievable, and unlike anything I've seen before.

Yes the play acting and card waving leaves a bad taste in the mouth, but watching Messi, Iniesta, Xavi, Cesc and co. work their triangles and playing great football is quite something.

Can't agree with Flash about pointless sideways passing - they're a very positive team who work openings like no other. It's not passing for the sake of it; it's just an understanding that kicking the ball forward isn't necessarily the best way forward!

Why do you think it is ridiculous? the clge is the biggest corporate club football event on the planet. Don't you think uefa would do their utmost to ensure that the sponsors get to see their dream final.
To me at least, this has been obvious throughout the competitions history, form the predictable draws for the latter rounds and more recently the run of crucial decisions at crucial times in ties, all favouring the barca whores, as far back as the chavs, ourselves and last night 2 dodgy pens which the ref had no hesitation in giving.
I'm not suggesting that they didn't deserve to win most of these ties (chavs excluded although funny for us they were scandalously robbed), but when the whores needed a little luck, the referee was always there with a controversial decision going their way.
I fucking hate the clge and I hate barca even more. As I said before, I hope Madrid fuck them good and proper, both domestically and in the clge this season.

It just would not happen, I've never known anything like it and coming as it did (just after we'd equalised and began to get a footing in the game) its all just a bit too much for me to swallow as innocent.

I'm winding myself up now but basically, let me tell you where I stand:

They're *word censored*, I don't watch any of their matches and i hope the nou camp burns to the ground.
Errrm....Arsenal produced ZERO shots on goal in that game. That's on or off target. A new CL record.
Yep, I reckon they were bricking it that we might 'get a foothold' in that game LOL....

SERIOUSLY???!

ARSENAL this is we are talking about.

The team that scored in the 97th minute against Liverpool in the league in a title race last season, and ended up drawing the game!

The team that faced a soon to be relegated Brum in the CC final and lost!

The team that bottled a 4-0 lead at St James Park!

I completely agree that the RVP second yellow was a complete farce. But please, let's not pretend it was a game-changer. Arsenal were playing with Diaby ffs. And ALMUNIA in goal!!! Then there was the now legendary comical AKB mantra that was 'if only Bendtner's touch had been better we were a kick away from getting through'.

Errr yes maybe that's so. But, the reason Bendtner's touch wasn't better is because he's rubbish. Plain as.
It's the same as the Villareal team saying 'if only Riquelme's pen had gone in, we woulda been in a CL final against Arsenal'.

Bui it didn't, because he's a bottler.

The thing is, we were reduced to ten men right when we started to look alright and got some confidence from a lucky goal. We would have have recorded shots on target if we finished the game with 11 men. Not saying we weren't shit in that first half, but c'mon.

And if my auntie had testicles etc etc...seriously this is pathetic. This is Barca we are talking about, possibly the greatest club side of the last 30-40 years, 5 consecutive CL semis, and you honestly think a mediocre outfit like Arsenal were ever gonna beat them over 2 legs?! Pull the other one! Jesus it's actually scary, some ppl starting to sound like deluded Liverpool fans. It's embarrassing. PLEASE.

Arsenal WERE NEVER GOING TO BEAT BARCA OVER 2 LEGS.

That's why they have made 5 consecutive CL semis.

FFS Arsenal can't even create enough chances against QPR at Loftus Road Lol pull the other one....

Maybe ridicilous was the wrong word. But from what I've seen I just think it's not really true. The game against the chavs was maybe an outrage. But I think Barcelona also should have had a penalty in the first game. The disallowed goal from Messi. Against Inter they had a goal disallowed and a penalty not given AFAIR. Also in Milan they didn't get a penalty.

You have every right to hate Barcelona as much as you like but I think you should still stick to facts.

Me defending Barcelona.. never would have thought this might happen one day

You cant use that old we didnt beat QPR so we wont beat Barca rubbish. Barca lost to Getafe this season so are they better than us too? You cant go comparing results... The fact is we beat them at home and with 11 men away who knows what might have happened the likelyhood we would have lost but who knows??? :? Would you have put money on us beating Milan 3-0 after losing away 4-0 and being a RVP shot away from scoring a 4th? I wouldnt have but these things happen.

You said in an earlier post Guardiola has shown up Wenger in 2 years compared to 15 (why its got to come back to Wenger i dont know  ) lets not fuck about my old uncle could manage that Barca team, Guardiola is the luckiest man in footballing history to take over (as 2nd choice to Mourinho i might add) just as that team matured all at the same time and with plenty of cash to buy Villa, Cesc and others to back it up

Maybe you've misunderstood me, im not saying we definately would have gone through, I was saying that as things stood we were going through at the time of the sending off and the sending off killed off any chance we had of coming into the last 30 minutes of the game, which we had a history of doing against Barca.

As always you seem to be arguing against the point you want me to be making rather then the point actually being made. Im obviously not saying that we are better or anywhere near Barca in terms of quality, pedigree mentality or workrate. But I dont think its impossible that we could go on to beat barca over 180 minutes of football when we were ahead and improving after 150. Im no AKB but I dont hate Wenger so much that I revel in my club being shat on from a great height by UEFA.

As flash has said, if you were to be believed every match would be settled before the teams walk onto the pitch, we might as well dish out the trophies in August and forget about actually playing football.

You come up with plenty of good stuff Baba, but sometimes I get the feeling you're trying too hard to be negative towards Arsenal and it makes you come across as a miserable, one eyed goat, endlessly bleating away day and night.

You say we were never going to beat Barca over 2 legs, but you can't argue that we nearly did... if only bendtner hadn't fucked up his 'up for grabs' moment as we apporached stoppage time in the 2nd leg! - it wouldn't have been a deserved victory as we were ripped apart, but it still could have happened... even if you do DISAGREE BY WRITING IN CAPITALS! :-P

And the old "if we can't beat (enter shit team), then we have no chance against (enter good team)" is the biggest load of pointless bullshit, it's unreal. There's an endless list of examples of teams who lost to shit sides, then beat a good side. I bet even you can rattle off a good 100 or so without too much trouble. So why say it? :?

You're a good poster, and I agree - in general - with your opinions, but you shouldn't have to resort to writing bollocks (and even you know its bollocks, mate) when you're clever enough to put together a reasoned argument.

I understand what youre saying but they do this at 0-0. Its almost a piss take out of the oppo bit like when a player starts ball juggling during a game! If i were playing half way through that move i would have gone and kicked a lump out of the next Barca player who touched the ball

People do seem to forget that even if the King of Denmark had bucked his trend of showing an elephant's touch in front of goal, and took his chance, there was nothing to rule out Barcelona going and scoring at least one more in the time that followed against our 10 men

I seem to recall getting back to 2-2 at Anfield in the CL QF with time running down and holding that position for less than a minute before the old doughnut muncher conceded a penalty, and there was of course Eboue snatching a draw from the jaws of victory in the 99th minute against the Mickeys last year

Lets be honest Barca handed us a 3-1 stuffing really. Yes there is the possibility that Numpty Nik could have scored the most improbable winner but we had been given a masterclass. I can't remember enjoying a game less
