FAV ARSENAL MEMORY OF GAME YOU WERE AT
Re: FAV ARSENAL MEMORY OF GAME YOU WERE AT
Of all the games ive been to WHL in 2004 is my second best.
Best by a mile and never to be beaten for me in all my time supporting the Arsenal was Anfield in 89. I was sat right behind that goal.
It still brings a smile to my face watching it now.
Absolute classic game and a truly truly fantastic night.

I will have to think a little more about the best Highbury moment.
probably my favourite Emirates moment was in 2007 - Carling Cup semi final v Spurs just because by winning we actually reached a final. I was also there for the semi final v Ipswich last season but there was none of the atmosphere that there was for the Spurs game.
the first half v Milan recently was pretty good too.

Surely the most important Gunners win in history over Udinese was up there somewhere ?

My favourite Arsenal game that pops to mind straight away is the 5-3 victory at home to Middlesbrough in the 2004-2005 season to equal Forest's record.
The celebrations before the game presenting the commemorative invincibles Premiership trophy and to come from 3-1 down to equal the record was an amazing atmosphere, Reyes goal is a moment that i will never forget and just remindsme how special that team was.

My favourite was probably my first ever game - Arsenal v Derby County 2002. I was 9, the game was pretty poor but we won 1-0 and went top of the league that night. Highbury was beautiful..
This season - Chelsea (A) Great day,

After 40 years and so many games, how the hell can you answer such a question?! But there are 2 favourites that will never ever leave me:
1) May 26 1989, stood in the corner at Anfield, the ball hits the net in the 92nd minute and I hugged this woman, no idea who she was for a good 30 seconds and all we kept saying to each other is 'we've done it, we've done it......' The emotion just never leaves you.
2) The first time I attended a game at Highbury in the 70s, started queueing at 4pm for a 7.45ko, ran up the steps at the back of the North Bank and then saw the lush green turf and just stood there, gob open and thought 'WOW'
Arsenal till I die

Marvellous Chippy, my boy was one of the JGs who held up the 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' cards in the centre circle!!!!Chippy wrote:The much more important thing about that daymikehutch86 wrote:My favourite Arsenal game that pops to mind straight away is the 5-3 victory at home to Middlesbrough in the 2004-2005 season to equal Forest's record.

Chippy Jnr was one of the flag wavers!

Because we had already got tix and the JGs selected were given comps, that is the only game Mrs C has been to. She said "I think I understand why you like going to games."
Reyes goal was a truly wonderful moment because it was scored a minute after Pires' equaliser. Afterwards my son told me that, 'Dad you looked like a lunatic when Reyes scored' Oh well, never mind..

26th May 1989 Anfield...............
I wrote a letter into the gooner after relaying how we were the first coach back to Highbury and the partying Gooners that were still there at 2am or whatever time it was greeted us like we were the conquering hero's and did a conga through our coach out of the emergency exit. Oh happy days - the celebration at the Town Hall was good too.
Copenhagen 94
Parma were a bloody good team, but we knew how to defend back then and 1-0 to the Arsenal was enough to see us home. Three quarters of the ground was taken over by Gooners and the city of Copenhagen rocked all night. Even the ugly Danish women are beautiful
