As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

At this time of the season the easier games are against teams in mid table security with nothing to play for, not teams in a relegation fight. With that in mind I think our run is probably easier than Spurs and the six point buffer with one more game played should be enough for us to finish above them and also as the top London club. Who here wouldn’t have been over the moon with that in October?
I hope we are in the champs league next year, while the group games are generally dire the knock games often provide some of the best memories of the season. Even this year’s 2nd leg against AC will prob rate as my 4th/5th fav game at the Grove this year (behind Spuds n City/Newcastle in the league n Leeds in the Cup).
Oh I see what you mean, like er...oh yes Everton at home
Memo to Mods - rather than concentrating on eliminating foul language, could you please block any references to run-ins, predicting results etc etc
sorry but i have got to take issue with that - isnt that the point of this forum?
Are you serious? The Forum is here mainly to discuss Arsenal Football Club, debating players, results, prospects etc etc. What it isn't is to try and predict any results. It's pointless. I will buy anybody a pint who predicted ManUre 4 Everton 4 or Blackburn 4 Arsenal 3 or Chelsea 3 Arsenal 5 or Wigan 1 ManUre 0.........need I go on?

Have to agree with augie here. spot on mate. The only reason i want top 4 is because it takes a spot away from sp*rs
What is it now with people saying they don't want to qualify for Champions League because we can't win it? What do you think Pardew is saying to Newcastle then? Spurs were never going to win it but not qualifying will be a disaster for them.
Chelsea have been absolute shit house all season yet could get in the final. It's not always clear cut...

Qualifying in the top four is a trophy for Arsene Wengers Arsenal that isnt good enough for me. If we miss the top four it could put a rocket up the backsides of the people running OUR/MY club. The Champions League as a competition doesnt excite me as for 15 years we've been qualifying and for 14 of them we have been failing miserably year after year after year. With chelsea getting close this season just highlights how poor we have been over those 14 years that we havent got closer and one thing you can rely on is modern day Arsenal will bottle it at some point and in the European Cup you dont get a second chance even if you get a second leg (this year for example)

Come on Flash, look you're a sensible chap. Don't you realise that CL qualification isn't just about money. It's about being in a position to hold onto your top players like Fabr....er Nas.......erm well what I meant was that you're then in a position to compete with Europe's elite and attract super talent like Merte....erm Gervi......erm Chama.......oh well looks like you were right after all
Which raises the question........Could you suffer the Chavs winning the bloody thing if it then meant that The Spuds finishing 4th were still then faced with Thursday night footie? I realise I'd better not laugh too much cos it could be us in that situation!!
Ii's a really tough decision cos however hilarious it would be seeing the Spuds miss out, watching Fat Frank and a suited Pikey Terry lift the CL together would be nearly impossible to stomach

Selective editing at its best. Well done you
Easy to mock now that his career subsequently burned but cast your mind back to when he left and his performances in the season before. Another player groomed to somewhere approaching maturity that left the project to be replaced by.......oh yeah, another player to be groomed before leaving for a bigger club

NO - Chelsea winning the CL is in my opinion a worse scenario than Spurs qualifying for it.
how about this for a question. How many people would accept us finishing 5th and Chelsea NOT winning it?

The answer is an emphatic NO!! I would rather see Spurs qualify for the CL than Chelsea actually win it.

Seeing as Chelsea won't get anywhere near 4th this season, in essence you're asking would you rather see Newcastle and more importantly Spurs qualify for the CL, us miss out and Chelsea not win it.
Serious conundrum
Actually filling me with rage thinking about it, much as I want Chelsea to lose the final us not getting in the CL would rub in how much we've pissed away third place
Chippy wrote:Worst nightmare about to happen? I think I'd drink myself to death if we were 4th and the Chavs won the CL.
And can you imagine the complaining from Wenger, about having this trophy taken away from us.
All will be explained away as follows:
"Overall I believe that we have shown a remarkable consistency and spirit to have qualified for the Champions League group stage every season since 1998. We were a little bit unfortunate this time because we missed out under 'special circumstances'. "

No way the Spuds were in the CL last season and we could handle it as they have as much chance of winning it as we have .But the Chavs winning the CL would be a fucking disaster.Think about it the first London team to win the CL is Chavski
