Do you agree with the ticket prices at the emirates?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Football is too expensive in general. It has bigger impacts on other stuff aswel. Clubs can demand higher TV rates so TV companies bump up their price, in terms of your local pub this will lead to them charging more for pints and effecting beer prices is just not right! Like many on here in terms of Arsenal, I wouldnt mind so much if it was being invested back into the team. The fans are out of pocket and Ivan is wiping his ass with £50 notes :banghead: :banghead:
The carling cup ticketing policy is good on behalf of Arsenal, fair play for doing that but I hope it lasts :barscarf: :barscarf:

Just put the lager prices up at Champions League games - that'll do the trick :D

i think there is to big a devide between lower and upper tier,

for your average game i am happy to pay £35 for lower tier, it when you go to the upper tier and are looking roughly £47 - £70 for a cat b game that i think its stupid. i no it is a better view from higher up but there is no atmousphere at all, i would rather pay less and have a better atmousphere in the lower tier

another thing is back to the debate about why they give away supporters the cheaper tickets instead of putting them up with the gods and charging them about £50 a pop,

Football ticket prices in general are a joke. Many of these clubs (not Arsenal I accept) charge an arm and a leg, price genuine fans out of attending matches, make a fuck load from sponsorship and TV deals and still can't turn a fucking profit. However much money is generated in football the useless fuckers just waste it all on agents fees and players wages. There should be a cap on how much is charged by the clubs and there should be some requirement for some sort of justification of price rises. I think it was Villa where the away ticket price (same area of the ground) worked out about £15 more expensive one season than it was the season before, how they fuck can they justify that absolutely inflation busting increase?

If ticket prices are to stay as they are (and keep increasing because we are stupid enough to keep paying them), I think the clubs should at least be forced to invest in providing heavily subsidised/ free travel to all away games. £60 to watch QPR is a joke in itself, but when you also have to pay about £50 to get there (plus food etc) it gets ridiculous. By signing a deal with a bus company, PL clubs could provide incredibly cheap travel to take some of the cost burden off the fans- it would also improve atmospheres as more games would see full away allocations. Do it at a slight loss or at most break even, give something back.

Arsenal's prices- well, as an away fan I can't really complain- £35 or so in London is very reasonable for what is always seen as a great day out but overall the pricing of season tickets etc for home fans is fucking disgusting. More and more fans are starting to find they enjoy the atmosphere and the "experience" more by watching in the pubs but I'd hate to see the day when watching your team live becomes a pastime merely for the wealthy, its meant to be the working mans sport FFS

Was anyone at the AST meeting where they were apparently talking about a three-tier category system next year??

Have a look at my post on the previous page. Apparently it would be slightly cheaper against "lesser" teams (whatever that means) but much more expensive against the "big boys". Another kick in the teeth for us from what I understand.
Categories should be scrapped and tickets capped at £25 (and that's being generous, it shouldn't be above £20 in fact)

Wasn't it the AST annual general meeting where it has been discussed?

May have been, but the email and the majority of the campaigning has been done by AISA.

So price increases are not only limited to England

Went to watch Fortuna Koln yesterday (Fortuna are essentially a non-league side). Good result (3-1) but that was about it.

Pricing structure changed ( ) to move the vocal fans to the open terracing where they will pay the same as they did last year for a seat. The seats have now increased in price by 50%

Add to that yesterday we were treated to non-alcoholic beer - due to the opposition being Essen (a tasty fixture). And with Essen meaning "food", you would expect it to be tasty  , except that they ran out of sausages  , mainly because of the number of young children there, who being allowed to run free while their parents chatted about whatever the fuck they chatted about. Add to that the group of 10 Japanese youngsters, who had interest in everything other than the game :cussing: , and nearly getting a police fine for crossing the road against the lights ( because I needed a beer after the game  :banghead: )

So, the moral of story is this: It was shit day at the football but could've been worse.

This always puzzles me and makes me laugh in Europe. Crowds of people standing by the side of the road instead of crossing, even when there's not a car in sight  I got a ticking off from OB in Warsaw a few years back for crossing on a red light....

Logged on yesterday to book a ticket for Chavs at home, was quoted €85 for lower tier ticket

Have flights and train booked but gotta write it off, cause no way am I paying €85 to watch this shite + be abused by fellow supporters, as happened last week v Sunderland

Club is getting more embarrassing, Arteta and a couple of others are the only ones who actually give a flying fuck that we achieve success. :censored: off the board and make it affordable to attend games

Given up going to watch the arsenal, prices have been a joke for a long time. I now go week in week out to watch my local team Woking, easy as piss, pay on the gate, go in any stand you want (it has a covered terrace) and no jobsworths telling you to sit down, thats what it should be like going to the football
