"Playing for George Graham was like living in Iraq"

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

His only concern was that DB10 would nip across the water and shag his missus whilst he was gone !
He was my Hero then and remains so today and proved beyond any doubt that you can make a silk purse from a sows ear !

I always wondered why GG had bunk beds in his bedroom. :D

Actually Baghdad during the George Graham Era wasn't such a bad place to live at all ,had the highest standards of living in the Arab world and as long as you were not a Shi ite or Kurd you had a good life .
Went there a few times late 80's I liked it !
So maybe what Anders was saying that life under George was OK.

Anders Limpar he is very Good .......ya !

The classy Davis stayed in the squad but seldom played, Rocky had injury troubles and got sold.

The ethos became defensive minded.

Midfield packed with hardworking but uncreative players.
Thanks IHH and Quartz.

I always look back at that time and think what may have been if he had not of changed tactics. Wrighty was class but the goals dried up elsewhere, thru a combination of factors I suppose.
Davis was my favourite player at that time. That guy had everything. The injuries to Rocky were a huge dissapointment and I wish we had that midfield now to be honest.

I agree with others that the strength and size of club we have become was in large part down to GG.
Wish we had some of his no nonsense approach to management these days.
