Wont be sorted yet and for once im glad ,in order for him to stay on he wants to see some real investment in the squad .
If they dont do it then I dont blame him for leaving

As long as there is no confirmation of his departure there is hope.
And since yesterday the chances to sign a new contract increased. :D

I still think he'll stay. RVP isn't going to let anything out until negotiations begin. Either way it has to be sorted out before the Euros

I think it will. His position will be known by then, Arsenal will look to avoid last years mess.

Rigsby, I think that is fair to call you a positive guy so are you suggesting that money will be rvp's main motivation when entering these negotiations ? The fact that you say that is must be sorted prior to the euro's means that rvp wouldnt get a chance to see what new players are drafted in and surely you wouldnt force a decision unless you were convinced that you would get the answer that you want ? :? If you feel that way then that suggests to me that you believe rvp is a money man and I doubt you would think that way about him

Although I agree that it would be stupid on his part for RVP to come out and promise he will stay before the negotiations, I must say that seeing the interview last night had me even more worried than I was before.

I don't think RVP is motivated only by money but it really is down to Wenger and the club to show him that we have ambition and will be trying to compete more seriously next season. However, having read Gooner.ed's article on the main page this morning and the alleged shenanigans involving the proposed Verthongan transfer, then I don't hold out too much hope that the people in charge of our club have learnt from their mistakes.  :banghead: :banghead:

The only reason Podolski was signed so quickly is because the club know RVP is off. There has to be something fishy going on for Arsenal to sign a player that promptly and once the season ticket renewal date has passed all will become clear. Still another 30 mil for the cofffers, Stan must be moist.

Podolski is an attacking midfieder on the left, not a striker like RvP. So he can´t replace RvP.

I think RVP will take Wenger at his word and if given assurances that the club intend to bring in some genuine quality then he will stay. The problem is I don't think he will get thoses assurances and I fully expect him to be gone before the euros.

Perhaps now that Park has finished his "adaption period", we'll get to see him as the main striker

Yep, alongside MaryAnne so long as his transformation from pre to post op all goes smoothly.
