And no way is he awful, he is above average so far but not amazing.

His last 2 world class signings were Cesc and RVP and they were signed I believe about 8 years ago.

He just throws away so much money. I'm glad Robson came out and pointed this. Its been awful. Absolutely awful.
Be fair. There have been hits too, like Cazorla, Koscielny, Arteta, Ox, Monreal, BFG and to a lesser extent Podolski, and this is coming from someone who's anti-Wenger as they come.

Prior his injury I would argue that Eduardo was a hit.

Agreed. I think he could have been something really special. He was showing flashes of proper clinical finishing and his movement off the ball was good. All ruined by a fucking thug cúnt. :x

Always agree with what Robson says, in the main, and he got injured for us when Man U kicked him off the park in the 1983 semi, we would have won had he stayed on, he was, sadly, never the same player after Albiston, Bryan Robson, Remi Moses and Whiteside kicked him to bits!

Caz was hardly an unknown. He was a FM signing and 15m. He's been a great signing but I'm not going to worship AW for a signing I could have made. Kosch has his ups and downs. Arteta was 29 and on the last hour of transfer window. How fucked would we have been if he hasn't of U-turned and took a pay cut? Monreal was 8.5m for a fullback! And again on the last day of the window and yes only a rota player. Merty was fucking awful his first year. I would still have chosen Samba or Cahill over him but no we got the slowpoke. We had to play deeper the 2nd half of last season just to accommodate his slowness.

So no praise from me.

Really? :?

I liked Eduardo, and he was clearly a superb finisher BUT I do think people look back at his pre-injury Arsenal career with rose tinted glasses.

The guy was hardly ever played up front! - he almost always played from the left and, for me, just didn't look comfortable playing there... then again, i didn't think he looked comfortable as a lone striker either, so personally I don't think he ever fitted in properly.... yet others see him as a hit, and in your case you think he was filling Henry's void :o it's bonkers how we can see the same player so differently!

Which Samba, the one that went into semi-retirement at Anzhi or full retirement at QPR.

Watch Cahill when he plays for England, he get's carried a lot by his defensive partner as he does when he's next to Ivanovic or Captain/Love-rat/Racist. When Luiz partner's him in defence, the chavs ALWAYS concede. If we were going to buy a prem defender when yhose 2 were available we should have gone for Hangeland.

AW has been hit and miss like most so no praise here but there is no denying Robson's rant has more behind it. He's a bitter little bitch and sacking him is probably one of the few decent things this club has done in the last few years. Thank God for the mute button when the c**t is on ESPN

What?!

Surely we've all been calling for Wenger to sign established top quality players these last few years but when he does so he gets no credit? Let me see if I understand this, we dont want him to sign unknowns but we're only going to praise him if he does exactly that?

I think 7.5m a year is too low to have to deal with logic like that

Agree 1,000% he was quickly becoming the Prem's deadliest striker/fox in the box et cetera then that cretinous scumbag M'F***er of a cruntslop Taylor 'did im'...and never even apologised. (FACT).

I hear taylor is at watford now...is that true!?

"Eduardo broken leg incident[edit]On 23 February 2008, in the third minute of Birmingham's home match against Arsenal, Taylor committed a foul on Croatian international striker Eduardo da Silva as a result of which Eduardo suffered a compound fracture to his left fibula and an open dislocation of his left ankle. He received treatment on the field for seven minutes before undergoing surgery at a local hospital, and was transferred to a London hospital the following day.[25][26] The injury was so disturbing that Sky Sports, who were broadcasting the game live, decided not to show replays of the incident.[27] Taylor was sent off for the offence.[25]

In his post-match interview, Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger called for a life ban for Taylor,[25] but retracted his remarks later that day, admitting they had been excessive and made in the heat of the moment.[28] Shortly after the match, Birmingham City issued a statement asserting Taylor's lack of malicious intent and his distress at the injury, and sending their best wishes to Eduardo.[25] While Croatia captain Niko Kovač referred to the "brutality" of the incident[29] and death threats appeared on the internet,[30] Birmingham manager Alex McLeish and Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, a former teammate of Taylor's, insisted that he was not a malicious player,[25][31] and former manager Steve Bruce claimed that some might question whether Taylor even deserved a booking.[25]

At president Sepp Blatter's personal request, FIFA's disciplinary chairman reviewed the matter, suggesting that the Football Association increase Taylor's punishment from the standard three-match ban; they refused to do so as there
was no suggestion of intent.[32]

Gervinho has been less good than good this past season mate...and if he doesn't improve VASTLY - I can see him getting the eboue treatment....for me he should be sold asap.

As far as I can see this guy is an absolute w**ker. Working on Arsenal tv he was licking the likes of Hleb's ass and now since he has nothing to do with Arsenal hes a bitter bald kn*b jockey.

to replace Henry like for like was never gonna happen, but Eduardo was showing signs he was gonna be somewhere up there, and don't forget we hit the top of the table with 6 points and 2 games in hand in February 08 until his injury, with henry gone we were firing on all cylinders and that is in my eyes a lot to do with Eduardo.and who canforget Eduardos appearances in the 2 CL games against us,scored both games, nuff said
