Re: POLL: WOULD YOU GIVE ARSENE WENGER A NEW CONTRACT
Arsene who? some unkwnown could be found again and do a better job.
who knows if a replacement even if it were fergie would do a better a job. we dont.
your comment is idiotic. none of us can predict the future, but saying what you have is basically being scared of the unkwown and better the devil you know.
most are not happy with how things are. the only way things could get better (but migh get worse) are by changing something. Your attitude smacks of just settling for what we have and is the typical unambitious akb viewpoint.
no one knows if things will get better under a new manager, but unless you're happy with the current malaise, and i know you are as you are more loyal to the manager than the entity that is arsenal, we will never find out if things could be better unless we make some sort of change.
basically those not advocating change are happy that arsenal are no longer competing at the top table and have accepted it. those eho do advocate change actually want the club to do all it can to try and get back there.

I'd take either Redknapp or Mourinho.hugh jardon wrote:Those who say 'No' should also state who they think should replace him and do a better job?

One of the reasons for him getting a new deal should never be because someone might not be able to do better.
Lets be honest, it won't take much to better no trophies in 7 years and a huge squad on handsome wages.

False. That isn't they're job. It's the board's job.hugh jardon wrote:Those who say 'No' should also state who they think should replace him and do a better job?
When Graham left would anyone have nominated Wenger? No.
P.S: you want names?
Jurgen Klopp. Carlo Ancelotti. Pep Guardiola.
Gus Hiddink. Vicente del Bosque.
Want more?

Newcastle are a big club but when did they last win a trophy or play in the Champions League?
Similarly Everton, Sunderland etc which are also big clubs.
ok no trophies may have been won but we have competed at a higher level than these clubs for the past 7 years. That goes for Spurs and Liverpool too despite them having the odd success in that time.

Re: POLL: WOULD YOU GIVE ARSENE WENGER A NEW CONTRACT
We're the only club around that rewards failure, any other manager with any shred of respect left, after players that Wenger wanted to keep, then get sold would surely quit in disgust, but no, not Wenger, if he can keep trousering his 7 million a year for fuck all he will. I wonder how quickly he'll sign this one.

Wumber is getting closer and closer to that banning, methinks...

Re: POLL: WOULD YOU GIVE ARSENE WENGER A NEW CONTRACT
We wouldn't get any of the names being thrown around on here. Just going out and employing the next "name" on the list isn't going to happen at Arsenal. Regardless of how people interpret the Arsenal "brand", the club aren't going to change that by employing someone who might not follow their ideas.
How would you feel if they gave it to someone like Steve Bould? Same money to spend/not spend and the same squad. Would you be happy with that?
