Not even Milan?
Nope, to tell you the truth I hate the competiion with a passion, it bores me senseless, I'd rather have finished out of the qualiyfing places for this and the Thursday night joke cup, perhaps it may have caused some changes to have been made, instead we're back to where we have been for the last 5 or so seasons, all too familar.

Huntelaar is going to be pissing himself laughing at the thought of playing against Mannone.

I think we will play a little with the handbrake on. It takes a long time to build up your confidence but you can lose it very quickly.

I couldn't give a flying about this bloated crap competition - a seeding system with dead rubbers played in Nov and Dec in front of half empty stadia.......zzzzzzzzzzz........I think I'd prefer an England friendly

Couldn't give a fuck - whats the point in striving to qualify for a competition for 9 months that you then spend 3 months of the Summer destroying any hope you'll ever have of winning it.

Bore off

A load of simiar comments since but this was the first one that hit the nail on the head for me - I dont give a fcuk about this competition and it is at the root of the cancer that is eating away at the integrity of our once great club  Finishing 4th isnt success and the money generated doesnt equal success either  I am sick of hearing that our best players wont stay with us if we dont play in the champs league but to be honest I dont give a flying fcuk if they all go  I am sick of hearing that the best players wont join us if we are not playing in the champs league but we aint buying them anyway and if the champs league can only attract the likes of gervinho then they can shove it up their arse as far as I am concerned

I wouldn't mind actually keep hearing that if it was actually correct.......they all leave us anyway regardless of how often we qualify. Strangely enough the better players get this weird desire to play for someone who might actually have a shot at winning the thing rather than rolling over as soon as anyone half decent comes along in the knockout stages

It's not the competition itself I hate, but the way that Wenker and the board use it as an excuse for their mismanagement of the club. Any other club WOULD use it to ensure they remain competitive at the highest level and actually attempt to win the bloody thing once their in it.

Combined with a rousing 2-1 home victory against QPR it'll be "there's only one Arsene Wenger" and the garden won't just be rosy, it'll be like Kew Gardens :barscarf:

And by Saturday evening all will be forgiven and we'll be hearing about how the squad has bounced back from the disappointment of the Norwich defeat because they have a fantastic spirit......before a nice little trip to Old Trafford. Special circumstances anyone ?

Actually the trouble started with Schalke supporters messing up the city and some fan grounds. Then police and BVB fans got involved and it all was a big mess :rubchin: that’s not the football we love :rubchin:

You will play a very strong team on Wednesday and so you will have the comparison to last year on the pitch and on the stands.

Good luck for your game, hope you win!

Cheers, Thomas

Hi Thomas. Do schalke have a reputation or were the problems just because it was a local derby?
